Sherbet

I've not had any for ages.

When i was at junior school, the local sweet shop would have big tubs of it (various colours / flavours) and you bought it by the quarter. the shop keeper would then pour it into a paper bag and off you went.

then when at school, you were bound to somehow tear the bag or get a wet corner which disintegrated and before you knew where you were your paper bag was loosing it's contents at an alarming rate.

It was without doubt the most stupid thing to be packaged in when you were 7. Cola cubes were much more sensible.

I used to enjoy the lemon sherbet especially. You are correct about the wet corner of the paper bag...I always ended up just chewing on it until it was a soft pulp then spit it at high velocity onto the neck of the boy sitting in the desk in front of me, always good to end a bag of sherbet with a laugh.
