Have a cup of punch.
Most of you probably were not alive when this happened. Ask your parents if they remember it?

I'm listening to the death tape now. The thing is chilling.
I never knew he had a lisp at the end.
Caleb makes me think of Jim, I guess that's wrong though because I'm reminded that at least Jim wasn't a racist.

Pretty major god complex here.
Jim said "with out me there is no life, I'm the best friend you'll ever have."
Later he'll say have a beverage on me.

I was in high school when this happened and remember it fairly well. It really brought to light the dangers of religious cults and brainwashing as the Reverend Jim "Do-You-Want-Some-KoolAid" Jones was a master.

Yeah Marshall Applewhite leader of "Heaven's Gate" was another one much more recent but people seem to be forgetting him.

Yeah they should sweep it under the carpet so it's easier to repeat.

cult activities have been around since the world began. there have been other extreme cults that have done mass suicides since the jonestown incident. these groups scoop up the depressed, forgotten, people who are searching for something better.
the approach is the same. become their friends, isolate them, and, brainwashing tactics.
whether it is political, religious, hate related. these cults exist and feed off of people fears, desires and hopes & dreams.
the list is endless. and, revisiting Jonestown is just sad. i for one wouldn't pay money to see a movie staring a crazy man and his ideology

Enough about the Democratic and Republican parties - we're talking about cults here.
