How many of you are die hard Michael Jackson fans that loved most, if not all of his songs, and how many of you really only listened to Thriller and ABC?

I think he made quality music though I'm not really a fan of it. In other words, I'd rather look at clappers avi.

Wasn't a major fan but he was my generation's Elvis. Until his death I had none of his albums, since I have bought 3. (the only one's I have been able to find) Not only was he probably the most successful artist to ever live, but also the most misunderstood and ridiculed.

He was one of the best beat boxers around.
The moonwalk was amazing the first time I saw it. As a little kid, dancing like Michael Jackson was the coolest thing anyone could do.
"Beat It" had some sick Eddie Van Halen guitar work. Off The Wall was a great record.
But to me, Michael Jackson died in 1993. In talking about it with friends, we all agree. He died to us all when we found out about the molestation allegations. After that, one couldn't like MJ without being associated with "Jacko" and all of that crap.
It's sad, because MJ's music is very much entwined with idyllic memories of childhood, yet it's so thoroughly tainted and weirded out by what became of the man. Whatever, I'm waxing poetical, but the guy did have legitimate musical talent, is still the biggest pop star of all time, and every time I hear "Billie Jean" or "Workin Day and Night", I'm ready to hit the dance floor.

While he isn't and wasn't one of my favorites, (Truthfully, I like Wierd Al's parodies of MJ songs better then the actual songs) the sheer longevity of his career and volume of his sales (third to only Elvis and the Beatles, and quite likely to take #1 or 2 at least temporarily on death-popularity spike) argues that he was a talented musician. I really don't get all the people who are 'mourning' the death of someone they don't know- it's not like losing an actual friend or family member- but even though the coverage is annoying, he was an influence on music and even on our culture. (Not that that is anything for culture to brag about....

)

Sadly, many people have come to this conclusion. To judge a man based on false accusations, then even after being found not guilty, continue to believe it...... you need more than a high-five.

MJ would be an interesting person to study. I think his emotional and mental development was severely stunted due to a variety of things associated with being a childhood star. These charges of molestation are way off base, I believe. He was like a little kid. It was probably not sexual. If it was, it was only like sexual experimentation that little boys and girls will do with each other. He was like a little kid having sleepovers.
He never grew up. Remember the "dangling baby" incident? That's something a stupid, undisciplined child might do.
It's sad what a fucked-up mess he was. Obviously he was a tormented individual. It's something of a blessing that it's over.
As far as his music goes, he had some catchy tunes. Nothing of much substance. Just light pop and dance tunes. Nothing brilliant. But it certainly appealed to a lot of people

Thriller is the best video ever made. Oh and the song wasn't too bad either.

If they were false, then why did he pay the accuser $22 million to stop making them and to drop the trial?
Why is a man like you, who spends his every living minute whining about how people are so willing to believe everything the evil mainstream media says, suddenly so willing to believe it when it says comforting things about a man you want to like (i.e. MJ)?
The ease with which you piously proclaim two separate sets of standards is frankly staggering.

The mainstream media obviously wants people to believe that MJ molested the boys. Are you so easily fooled by simple reverse psychology? That is disappointing.

Just like they
don't want us to think that Obama is the President!
Ha ha ha! We'd better not fall for their cunning reverse psychology antics, eh Prowly?

This has nothing to do with Obama.
The simple fact is that the vast majority of the population believe MJ molested the boys. This is all based on what the mainstream media has told us.
There is no argument here. It is just too obvious. Try to cloud the issue all you want. But to argue that the mainstream media wants you to believe that MJ is innocent is ridiculous.

Whatever it was, it was weird and inappropriate behavior from an adult, but we'll probably never know one way or the other.

Or like what a heroin addict whose penis remains flaccid even when aroused would do to try and fill the void of sexuality created by narcotics abuse if that heroin (or demerol, whatever) addict has a thing for boys.

Again, more likely it was wacked out on pain killers for like 25 years behavior.

So, Prowler, you're saying that by reporting that MJ was 'not guilty', the media actually want us to believe that he was guilty?
The reason that people think that he probably molested little kids was not because he paid them gratuitous sums of money not to take him to court, and not because he openly admitted taking them to bed with him, but is in fact because the mainstream media are maliciously plotting against him and trying to use subliminal messaging to make us all think he's a child molester?
But anyway, stop clouding the issue yourself. The point here isn't about whether Jacko was or wasn't guilty... it's about the fact that the man (Jay) who spends his life piously chanting "don't believe the first thing you're told by the authorities" is suddenly willing to do precisely that when the authorities are telling him what he wants to hear.

And here we are, a concise summary of the neo-conservative movement in America over the last 15 years.

Yeah, he should be so ashamed that he can think for himself.
Really DM, you are having a bad day.

How about "none of the above".
I did not really know his music until fairly recently. Since, I have come to appreciate his voice and talent. I like some of the early stuff, but definitely not thriller. Mostly, I appreciate his place in history. I believe he will be considered as big or bigger than Elvis for future generations.

Yeah, I'm being stalked around this forum by a flagrant troll who seems determined to make completely inane comments in my direction every time I post. The most tedious part is that he doesn't seem to be able to read, so just responds with the first wave of pointless bilge that he can think up, regardless of what I write.

Can't we have one thread about MJ without it reaching the gutter? HIs major accusors have recanted. The guy is dead and cannot do anything, good or bad any more. Its time to just appreciate what he was instead of criticizing what he was not.

So when he does think for himself, you say
"You aren't allowed to do that!"??
You are the one objecting when he goes against his "pattern". What's wrong, can't handle it when someone does something you don't expect? Does it upset your tidy little world? Hmmmmmm....

22 million to MJ is like $200 to you or me. Why would you take money from someone who molested your child? Does it somehow make up for the lifetime trama of being molested?
The alligations were FALSE.
