wouldnt have happend if that Knicks guy didnt flagrant foul JR Smith and Nate "the Great" Robinson hadnt belly flopped Smith. Melo was just defending his teammate, u woulda done the same thing

he hit a person being held still...no i wouldnt have hit him at that point. Plus by then everyone was sorted out(for the most part)

so what. there's a reason he was being held still. i stand behind the Nuggets on this one. Nate was being a major jerk by even starting the fight

they're all to blame, though that flagrant foul was not necesary.

Very entertaining  What I like the most is how the Nicks tried to explain it:

According to the Knicks, the whole thing happened because the Nuggets still had their starters on the floor with 1:15 left and a 19-point lead. Denver won 123-100.

"They just wanted to embarrass us," Robinson said. "It was a slap in the face to us. As a team, as a franchise, we weren't going to let that happen. A clean, hard foul happened and after that it went down from there."

Translation:

Those guys kept throwing the ball in our basket. We don't like it when people throw the ball in our basket. It makes us looke bad, because our fans then expect us to throw a ball in some one elses basket. And we don't know how!!

The Knicks coach Isiah Thomas tried to avoid this kind of thing from happening:

Thomas said he even told Anthony that he never should have been in the game at the time.

"I just said to him, 'You know, you're up 20, you're up 19 with a minute and half to go, you and (Marcus) Camby really shouldn't be in the game right now," Thomas said. "We had surrendered, those guys shouldn't even be in the game at that point in time."

Of course, had the Knicks surrendered prior to the game START, there would be no fight. Anthony and Camby were probaly irritated by the fact that had to run around, throw balls nad so on; and only 1.15 minutes before the end do Knicks surreneder. I think it is a lack of sportsmanship from Knicks side that they don't surrender before their matches start.

After the hard foul by Collins, Smith got up and jawed with Collins and Robinson jumped in to yell at Smith -- who had thrown down a reverse dunk on a fast break minutes earlier.

"They were having their way with us," Thomas said. "I think J.R. Smith had just made one dunk when he reversed and spun in the air. And I think Mardy didn't want our home crowd to see that again. So he fouled him."

That is really no way to behave in a basketball game. YOU ARE NOT PLAYING FOR THE AUDIENCE; YOU SHOW OFF!!!!!! KEEP THE GAME UGLY!

Omg, I just saw the explanation of the incident. Nuggets were bad towards their girl-friends!!

"They were having their way with us," Thomas said

Get your asses to the flower shop, Nuggets. Knicks deserve your respect and loyalty. Before, during and after  [/b]

I don't know why people are always so shocked when sporting events turn into brawls.

You've got two groups of people who are competing against each other, their adrenaline is riding high, and then somebody does something that sets someone off and you've got a fight.

seriously, the Knicks were being a bunch of crybabies. i mean, the nuggets want to win, and they want to impress their fans (me) by winning big! whose fault is that?? the knicks would do the same thing. no offense to Isiah, or Nate Robinson, but come on! u guys would do the same thing, and everyone knows that foul was on purpose, and U set it up Isiah!!!

carmello is a b*tch. Sucker punching someone like that, no matter what the circumstances, makes you a b*tch. And then running away afterward makes you a b*tch.

lol! seriously, if Carmelo gets suspended for more than 10 games, i'm gonna be mad. and Nate should be suspended for 10, as should that guy who started this whole mess

Jefferies (I think thats the guys name, I'm not into NBA) reacted ok. When Carmelo punched him, he took it and controlled himself, but when he knocked down his team-mate, he lost it and went out for blood. I am really sorry that he didn't catch Carmelo

I like how the news was saying that even the people who were pulling the guys off of each other were throwing punches when they obviously weren't.

I found it full of humor, it was a good game then it just got funny.
I see how Denver won but no one ever talked about the win in school today.

They went to a basketball game and a hockey game broke out.

I've personally had it with all these overpaid, egomaniacal, spoiled brat thugs. They should all be suspended for the rest of the season and hit them the only place that will have an impact - in their wallets.

I completely agree, they are just athletes, they don't do anything important what so ever but yet act like immature idiots. Can you imagine if a fight broke out in an office building. Someone would get fired.

At least we have football. They are actually supposed to hit people in that sport.

NBA, more like NTA, National Thug Association.

What makes it even worse is that now Melo has another thug right there beside him. You know the short one, AI.
