I'm looking to host my first tournament themed around the 2020 NCAA Men's Basketball tournament. Ideally, I'd like to host this with 68 players (I know that's a big ask) so I'm going to keep it simple. (If I can't get 68 in a realistic amount of time, we may be able to start with 32 and run the Sweet 16 to the end.)

Since the tournament is canceled in real life, I'm cutting this down to at Sweet 16 tournament for 16 players.

All games are 1v1, Automatic, Sequential, Escalating, Chained, Fog, Trench, 30 Round Limit.

Maps are as follows:
Regions will each have four teams playing a mini 3 game tournament on the following maps:

• East Regional (New York) plays on the USA New England map
• Midwest Regional (Indianapolis) will play on the USA Great Lakes map
• South Regional (Houston) will play on the USA Southwest map
• West Regional (Los Angeles) will play on the USA West map

The semi finals and final will then be played on the USA map (instead of the USA 2.1 as originally mentioned).

When signing up, please indicate the team you would like to represent in the tournament. I will assign regions based on the teams selected and then seed within regions as best I can based on how that team did this season in real life.

Just like the real NCAA tourney, you lose and you're out. Keep winning to advance to the finals. I would like to get this filled as fast as possible, so tell your friends!

Open to all players including Freemiums, just need spot for one game at a time.

OK, so I've been working to figure this out for a bit and finally landed on how I want to go forward with this. Since the actual NCAA tournament has been canceled (thanks COVID-19!) I'm going to cut this down to a 16 player tournament and play as if we are starting at the sweet 16. Also, since there was no selection show to determine seeding for the tournament (that never took place), participants are welcome to select their own favorite school (first come first serve) to represent the tournament here on CC. Once teams are selected, I will seed them based on region and how the actual teams did this year in college basketball.

May I suggest seeding each player by their score? Otherwise players are going to pick the best teams in college basketball just to get a higher seed.

OK all, the tournament is full and everyone has selected their teams. I broke selected teams out by geography as best I could and then seeded them based on the latest available rankings from the college basketball world, before everything went topsy turvy. These rankings are honestly just for fun and as good a way to randomize them as anything else.

Below are the groupings. I will be setting up a Challonge.com page for this with four groups corresponding to the four groups. the winners of those four "regions" will then advance to the semi-final/final bracket.
