Re: Risk: A tournament based on the board game

With the arrival of the Japan map, it will now be available as a home map for the Japan territory. Current Japan territory holders may change to it AFTER round 3 is over, if someone captures Japan before Round 3 they may use it immediately. Eastern Hemisphere will no longer be used for Japan.

I'm not sure if this has already been suggested, but it would be very cool to see the succession of maps in post 3 as an animated GIF when this tournament is done. Now is the time to think about it, so copies can be saved at each new round. If the earlier rounds are lost, we are not too far along, so they could be reconstructed, but the sooner we start saving copies, the less work it will be. A simple series of snapshots would show the progress of the competitors, but if someone is ambitious, clever transitions moving the avatars from one location to another would be awesome.

That does sound cool but way beyond my own skill set. The other potential issue is that as people change their avatars their symbol changes (because I lose the picture)

Well, although the text appeared to be missing, the full information was in the link, so it worked for me, and I must say the animation was fun to watch. Nice work!

OK
Group A is playing Attack phase 2 with ten territories still in play
Group B is finishing up Attack phase 3 with with just three matches left to be decided.

And I wanted to say yesterday, I also enjoyed the animation there, thanks Miandw for doing that (well beyond my scope at this point)

Thanks and I'm really enjoying this tourney, which is well beyond my scope of running. It's a great concept.
