Game style: Mostly 1 vs. 1 with some 4-player games
Requirements: Open to freemiums but must keep two slots reserved for this tourney.
Settings: Unless a category calls for special settings…the default for most games will be escalating, chained, foggy.
Number of players: I’ll keep sign-ups open for 2 weeks and we’ll see where we’re at. I’m willing to run it with as few as 16 players, but would preferably have a 64-player field (32 would be the other cutoff).
Game play will use a standard Jeopardy board with 6 catagories across and five $ amounts down. Game play is mostly the same as the game show with a Jeopardy and a Double Jeopardy round, finishing with Final Jeopardy. One Daily Double will be hidden on each board as well.
Here’s a link to what a sample board looks like…

Main differences
1) Instead of the standard 3-player showdown, we’ll play this is a four-person format. The top four rows ($200-$800 squares) will be reserved for 1 vs. 1 battles, while the $1,000 row will be reserved for four-person battles.
We’ll start the game with the bottom left $1,000 square…the winner gets “choice” and banks the $1,000. The runner-up gets “choice” as well.
Play continues with a series of 1 vs. 1 maps…players with “choice” select which square they want to play. If both “choice” players select the same square…the higher ranking players gets priority. Win the 1 vs. 1 map and you gain the $ for that square and control “choice” for the next map.
At the same time, we’ll be playing out the $1,000 maps in four-person format…win the map, win the $1,000.
*Any player who loses or is eliminated in 5 rounds or fewer buzzes in with the wrong answer and has that $ amount deducted from their score.
Double jeopardy will be played in the same format, however, “choice” will be given to the third-and fourth-place players to start the round.
Final Jeopardy
Contestants will be shown the category and asked to make their final wager.
From there, a pair of randomly selected 1 vs. 1 maps will be sent out. Win the map and your wager is added to your score; lose and that wager is deducted. The player (out of all four) with the most money and the end wins the game.
Players at $0 or less (extremely rare) will not be able to play Final Jeopardy
Winning the tournament…
Based on a 64-player model in please
