Welcome to Touchdown!
This tournament is open to freemiums as well as premiums as only 1 game will be played at a time. Freemiums must keep one slot open at all times. 97%+ attendance only please.
This is a 1v1 tournament where you win a match by being the first to score 3 touchdowns. All games will have default settings with a 20-round limit but each player chooses his own map.
Please choose your map when you sign up; the only maps which are not allowed are Random and Hive. It is advisable to choose a map where you can win quickly!
It will be a 16-player bracket so to win the tournament you need to win 4 matches (score 12 touchdowns).
How to score a Touchdown
This is loosely based on the rules of American Football.
On your home map, you have 4 attempts to make a gain of 10 yards (1 game at a time). The quicker you win, the more yards you gain. If you lose on your map, your opponent pushes you back, or if you lose quickly, the play is intercepted and control switches to your opponent. Play then continues from where on the field you reached.
If a game reaches Round 13, the play is incomplete and there is no gain either way.
If you do not make a gain of 10 yards within 4 attempts (plays), your opponent takes control.
If you succeed in making a gain of 10 yards, you continue with another 4 attempts from where you reached.
You start at the 50-yard line (halfway line); if you reach the endzone, the quarter is over and you have scored a touchdown. First to 3 touchdowns wins the match.
Player A will start in Quarters 1 and 3, and Player B will start in Quarters 2 and 4. If Overtime (a 5th touchdown) is needed, a game on Random map will determine who starts.
