Hi Guys

This is the accompanying tournament to the Formula One 2012 Drivers Championship: http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=164221&p=3585987#p3585987

This tournament is not yet open and not taking entrants while a few details are being worked out

The competition is in doubles format throughout and your partner will be the player representing the other driver racing for your allocated team.

RACES
For each Grand Prix, the 12 teams will first be split into 4 random groups of 3. The winning team from each qualifying session will go through to the race proper - making it 4 teams in the race.

There will be 19 races through the season, each race starting no later than the F1 fixture date.

Non Attendance
You will have 24 hours to join a game when invited. If you miss a qualifier, you simply won't qualify for the race. If you miss the race, your place will be offered up to one of the four 3rd placed players from the relevant qualifying race on a random basis. Miss 2 races in a row without good reason and your seat will permanently be taken by the highest-placed reserve.

According to Official Tournament Policies (found here: viewtopic.php?f=90&t=93398), the fifth bullet point states that 50% of the spots must be open to the public. This tournament will not be allowed unless you open it to the public and not just those in the Drivers Championship.

You will need to keep in mind several minimum requirements that must be observed in order for your tournament to be considered a public tournament. (Effective 04.12.10)

  • All tournaments must have at least the following amount of participants:
    • 1v1 and Singles Tournaments: 16 players
    • Team Tournaments: 8 teams (no more than 12 players per team; Added June 16, 2011)
  • The maximum point restriction allowed on a tournament is 2000+ points per player or team average.
  • The tournament format must cause the eventual winner to play at least 3 games.
  • All players must be given at least 24 hours to join their games, unless the tournament uses speed games (at least 48 hours is preferred).
  • At least 50% of the spots must be for open/public sign-ups and not filled with special invitations; every player or one person from every team must post in the thread to enroll.
  • Each tournament should be designed to end within 1 year. (Added June 16, 2011)
  • Each organizer can have only 4 tournaments recruiting players at once (has NO effect on ongoing tournaments or reserves threads).
  • The Tournament Directors reserve the right to deny privileges for your tournament if the tournament is deemed to break site or tournament rules, has an unfair structure, or has pertinent settings missing from the tournament description.
  • If you wish to run a tournament based upon an actual sports league or another well-designed format, and it requires you to have less than the minimum amount of participants or games, please contact the Create/Join Director to discuss a possible exemption.

I've already been talking with DJ Teflon about this - it's a compromise solution. All entrance to the partner tournament is 100% public.

At no stage did I advise two tournaments as a solution.

My suggestion was to have both objectives in the same tournament - drivers and constructors championship - then either the overall tournament award is to the winning contructors and the best driver is a general achievement, or visa versa.

However, a solution to the issue of multi-player singles games conataining players of the same team had not been reached.
