The Ocean Race – Laser Class [Standings in Post #2]

Hi everyone!
Imagine, if you will, the feeling of being one with nature and the elements. The wind propelling you across the water to your destination. The sheer joy of planing at breakneck speed with your spinnaker raised high in the air. If you can imagine these these things, then welcome to the Ocean Race -- Laser class!
This is my first tournament, and for it, I have decided to combine 2 of my most favorite pastimes, Sailing and CC
. I hope that you like it, because I plan to make it a franchise if it goes well. This tournament is Laser Class (1 man Dingy) and future tournaments will be Singles 470 Class, Doubles 470 Class, Doubles Dragon Class, Triples Dragon Class, Quads Dragon Class, Tornado class (3 man Catamaran), Elliot Class (3 man Keelboat) just to name a few; I can’t possibly hope to cover every possible class of sailboat, but who knows.
This Tournament will consist of 5 legs where sailors will pit their skills against each other, racing from one area of the world to another. Each leg will consist of 12 games, 6 at the origin, and 6 at the destination. Each round, you will be playing 12 games at once. For this reason, unfortunately, this tournament will be open to premium players only.
These are the game settings:
For this first race, I thought a nice little jaunt across the North Atlantic and into the Mediterranean would be nice. Maybe a little cold at first, but hey, that's why we have safety boats, eh?
Leg 1
Iceland to Ireland (4 players)
Leg 2
Ireland to Scotland (6 players)
Leg 3
Scotland to France (6 players)
Leg 4
France to Iberia (8 players)
Leg 5
Iberia to Italy (6 Players)
Once I get the site up and going, you will be able to see the race results at http://allenar.freehostia.com/CC/VOR_Tourney/index.php(once I get the site finished, of course). Also, if you want to post your own results (because you can't wait to tell everyone that you won that last game
) There will be a link on that site to do so.
[EDIT] I have lack's permission to make the tracking application look like CC (well, almost like CC
) And yes, it will allow you to update you own progress before the first game is won. However, the app will send me an email (still working the bugs out of this... php session vars (5.0.6), any help? please email me) asking me to validate your submission.
For those who are interested, You can find out all about the Laser class of sailboat at http://www.sailing.org/277.php
