I love the Marathon Cup, but I have an issue with the format.

By seeding each round by score, you are basically gifting the higher ranked players the tournament. The early rounds they are getting cupcake matches and thus gaining a huge lead, while mid rank players slug it out. Each following round, they will continue to get the weakest players left.

In a few rounds, the high rankers will have an insurmountable lead, the low ranks will be eliminate, leaving midranked players in impossible uphill battle to climb.'

Not much of a fair tournament.

I agree 100% with what xroads said. I am surprised though that this change is made in the middle of a tournament and not for the next edition.

Usually I do not like making such change in the middle but playing round 5 out of 27 has very little impact. Hope you won’t beat me too hard for making changes

Thanks, you know I always try to bring the most fair situation...and I always use this kind of issue to improve myself not making such mistake.

I personally always hate the seeded by score. It is very unfair to everyone playing, especially in larger tournaments like this. Why give the higher ranked more experienced players and even larger chance of winning.

Yeah, I’m still amaze I didn’t catch this upfront...lesson learn

I think it could be interesting to have have 1st play 2nd, 3rd play 4th and so on in each round.

I wish auto tournament would give such an option, I will ask webmaster if this could be added to the available ranking option.
