2 minute speed game rounds

Postby Kemmler on Sat Jul 19, 2008 5:33 am

you don't know how much you've made me wait due to 5 minute rounds... people tend to wait until the last 30 seconds so 2 minute rounds would make much more sense.

They only do that in freestyle, because they wait for other people to take turns to make theirs. Don't like it play sequential

Perhaps it would only be allowed in freestyle becasue I play a lot of seq and 2 minutes is not nearly enough time to finish someone of for example
Guys I am intentionally lurking. Discuss; Play mafia, it is good.

And a lot of the time it isn't enough for freestyle. NO-NO-NO.

I say yes, as an option. Like a button for 2 or 5 minute rounds. Options are good, especially options for Premium.

Why not add a Chat box inside speed games waiting for players too. Another great Premium option.

2 minutes is waay to short lots of times and lack has made his stance on this quite clear.

I don't know why lack says this.

You guys don't understand, 1v1 freestyle speed is a bunch of waiting for 4 minutes and 40 seconds every round. You'll find a lot of people hate it.

I hate waiting around for 4 mins every 1v1 game. I agree with herndawg, options are good!

I said no because of server instability. There's too many times where I get that 10 sec timed out warning that it would be frustrating when you only have 120 seconds to make a turn.

i would love to see:

5 min first round (gives people time to realize the game started)
2 min there after.
kill = + 2 min
13k Games and counting!

Agreed - I think more time options should be allowed, I've already made a topic on it a while ago.

However, I do find myself using a large portion of the 5 minutes to figure out hte map and what my opponent may potentially be doing. Playing 2 minute games, I'd probably still be able to focus on a lot of the info, but it would force players to play on their toes more often.

It would also force players to focus more on the games at hand, nothing is more frustrating than people who are in 3+ speed games at once because the time limit is 5 minutes, and would be in less if it was shorter.

As said by the person prior, however, the first turn would still need to be 5 minutes. The number of deadbeats would skyrocket if the first turn was 2 as well...

I agree. Most who don't...Do not play freestyle..As its only a game option you are asking for I find it more then reasonable.
All the players who disagree still have the option not to use it.

P.S ..The guy that said he cant finish off a player in 2 minutes ..You are slow.I can go round AoR 2 and hit every bonus in 97 seconds without clickable maps.

I like the 5 minute round. In the 2 free speed games all the free people got in March, in a 5 player sequential game I could cook breakfast between my turns and such. But I kinda see what you mean, 2 minutes is plenty, even with dialup. For me, it'd be better because I have dialup and I can't clog the phone line for hours. But I don't really count cause I'm not premium.

wrestler1ump...don't bring fog into this discussion, your just wasting time.

Personally I have never ran out of time on a speed game, so I have no objection to shorter times.
