i need a way of knowing what can attack the witch... those are hard to find because all you give us are the names of the territs, but they are randomly dispersed

yes i was uncertain of whether to so that the same way.
i will think of something, although i am sorry that naming the territories doesn't cut the mustard for you.

i'm fine with it, as i don't often play freestyle/speed games, but i feel like it might be disadvantageous for a newer player on the map owning the witch and not realizing to fort it that much because maybe someone might have like 10 on magic wand and they wouldn't even be able to take it into account

OK, here is a possible solution, but i placed it in the riddles.

Just a quick question Cairn.

Could you make those coffin better?

Try to Open them have some red Bloodred Texture inside them and make Drakula climping out or something.

it would be cool, and i will think about it, but i must caution that too much over-creative stuff on a map like this could ruin it. the players' eyes will only cope with so much before the map is labelled over-the-top, adn i wouldn't like that to happen. ;)

It's nice...

I'm not a fan of the riddles or lack of color either. Took me like 20 minutes to guesstimate what is going on here. The Tombstones don't have to attack through the gate only, right?

I'm nut sure if you were trying, but for the record, the Dragon's Lair doesn't look very cliffy.

Thanks for feedback Juan_bottom.
Once you have sorted the riddles though you won't forget them, will you?
This is more of a novelty map, and probably will only be dragged out at festive times, who knows.
The tombstones can only attack into Tombstone Terrace, and that can attack either of the two territories through the open gate, or also into Wicked the witch.
Dragon's Lair wasn't meant to look cliffy, rather more a rolling slope, :)

i think you might wanna change the name of the witch from wicked to something else... theres a certain connotation with the name wicked that might make people squeemish about playing this map.

because you know... she went crazy and did all kinds of bad things.... but it's ultimately up to you

i used wicked the witch as a phrase because it has a certain ring to it which fits in neatly with the theme of this map; the same as judge mentday and fideus widget; not as a tribute or otherwise to an ex CC moderator who may or may not have done things. If people want to make some connection there, then they will anyway. to answer, no i really don't want to change it.

What does this mean for the maps future? It's good right? Seems that for a "seasonal map," that this should be right where the voting puts it...

cairnswk wrote:Thanks for feedback Juan_bottom.

I try to help, because I actually do care. Too bad that more CCers don't care about the future maps...

Yes the map will continue in development, and i am hoping it will quench before Halloween this year.

There was some discussion earlier about this map being a seasonal map, where it would be dragged out of the dungeon every Halloween for player to indulge with. That's all the seasonality meant.
On the other hand if could be left in the Games Finder page and probably everyone would still want to play it on Halloween anyways. :)

I know it's a dark spooky themed map, but I would like more color. It's very gray right now and bland. I would like the sky a midnight blue with clouds & stars. The graveyard to have darker green grass. The ocean to be a deep / black blue. And the bonus areas to be more Halloween colors. Like Orange, Red, Brown, Green, Yellow, Gray.. It's a little too flat right now.

BTW, the castle and the graveyard look fantastic!

T'stone Terrance can only be attacked in two spots. +3

Animal Farm can be attacked in four spots. +4

Deaths door can be attacked in every territory and from quite a few territories as it's a central continent +6

Witch's Way is 5 territories but all can be attacked. +5

Dragon's Head is four territories and only three can be attacked from four territories. +3

Wizard Ward can be attacked in five territories. +5

oops. the spider can attack a whole bunch of shit so the above is attacks minus the web attacks...how about instead of being able to attack everything, it gives you +1 AND +1 per continent you hold. Or, maybe have it attack specific territories like the witch.

The castle and graveyard look fantastic, although I'd echo RJs comments about the rest looking bland and lifeless..

RjBeals wrote:don't listen to mibi - i really like the map and with a bit more work I think mibishibi will come around as well.

^^ This quote Rj comes from page two (and you have been heard), why didn't you ask for color changes back then....although you would probably have gotten the same answer.
1. Andy requested Earth tones.
2. the previous thread of this map was dissed because there was too much color and it didn't look scary enough, so considering the above these colors are more likely to remain.

I will attempt to change the requested sky, ocean and grass color/textures for Rj.
As for the map map looking a little...some suggestions as to what would make it look better would be helpful apart from changing the colors.
I think the colors that are there now are very Halloween and horror/scary colors.
Afterall, Freddy only attacks in the night/dark.

i'll examine these bonuses edbeard, and i think you could have something for the spider. i'll look into it.
