I reckon it was a trick from Cairns to see who was the most observant of us all...

Pep wins the prize - and gets a years premium...joke

The red arrow on the screenshot points to R06, not R07...

Edit: Just checked Cairns' updated XML, and he's got it right in there... panic over!

One more thing

Although, it appears in the legend, Unit 2 managed to get his name on the map

There is a word in between and a 0 before the 2 but it is there nonetheless

Yep I am very surprised I hadn't noticed it before, especially as I have completed nearly 50 games so far (record: 46:3 :) ) - and have 15 more active.

Once again - marvelous, marvelous map cairnswk. =D> =D> =D>

Cairns, I am still in both games that you invited me to play in. I also played in a couple other ones, doubles and quadruples. The more I play this map and understand it better, the more I love it. Elijah and I both think that you are incredibly talented. Keep the maps coming!!!!

Thank you once again for this wonderful map! I never imagined that I was a good enough player to get to Colonel, but with this map as a crutch I actually managed it!

I'm now looking forward to doing similar things with Gazala.

The map does have a slight weakness from an aesthetic perspective in that the configuration of the artillery either side of the road, means that many games become left vs right rather than French vs Allies - a very minor point indeed, but one I thought I'd point out.

Yes, Benjikat, there are several weak points, one being that Napoleon can't be attacked from the left because of the artillery sitting above left.
However, I might consider a review of this whole gameplay in the near future to make it more equal. Would you be up to being included in that?

The only changes I would advocate in game play...

Are
a) making Artillery able to attack each other (only ones next to each other)

And

b) add a couple more breaks to the Brussels road
or
c) Adjust M03 to be able to attack RS1

And

d) perhaps make the Napolean & Wellington bonus - autodeploy.

Considered...but i still don't lilke v. Blucher begin able to gather without bombardment.

That's the beauty of Blucher - it's a bitch to hold though... as it's got very many fronts...

The only applicable cannon for it would be M04 (The allies aren't going to "go american" and kill their own troops - friendly fire style)

Yes I very much would - I'm pretty certain I understand it's subtleties better than anyone.

As I intimated above - the left-right thing is what bugs me most.

PS just been reading back through this thread to see how the map took shape again... it's quite a journey... Page 10 is where it starts looking like the eventual product!!!

I just wanted to say that I've but recently started playing foggy 1v1s on this, and of my dear sweet creeping jesus is it fun, perhaps the most satisfyingly strategic experience on this whole damn site. Major thumbs up, cairns. Sure hope to see a trafalgar map sooner rather than later.

Yeah, the artillery are pretty damn important, to say nothing of the deep satisfaction one gets from wiping out half-a-dozen enemy terits. I can almost hear the crack of the field guns...

Bob...map inspect....tells me that Blue still has one territory alive. Where it is i cannot see.
Maybe he's hiding in amongst some neutrals.

This is not a bug. It's a player mistake for trapping yourself in an artillery.

I can't fort into my teammate's artillery, P01, from P06 or Z01, even when I owned P04 and P02. And it's chained, not adjacent, so that's not the problem.

Is there a reason for this? The relevant game is Game 3059663, but I may have lost some of those territs by now so it probably won't be any help to look at it.
Reputation cleared. :) Never let it be said that Team CC don't investigate fairly.
Although they take bloody forever to do it...

Can't fort through P02.
