here is my first attempt at a map, still need to title the countries...

what do you all think? worth finishing?

what should the bonuses be?

anything I should change? more water connections?

is it too small?

Looks good and you're going to please a lot of people with a new map that isn't a part of Europe! :D

First point though, you need more countries. If I counted right there was 27, you're probably going to need about another 15. You shouldn't have any trouble getting those into China and Japan.

yeah i was thinking along the lines of all the mines and fences and stuff that are there now...but, i can get rid of it too, it could mess up game flow...

I really like it actually, that will make playability really interesting as the middle of the map is blocked off

I like the idea. :) But I also agree that a few more countries would really help this map, playability wise. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Something fresh in the Foundry... :) ;)

I suggest splitting japan also, so that it is consistant.

you would benefit in playability to add countries to japan and china.. I like how korea is though.

While i don't subscribe to the notion that all maps should have the same number of territories as the standard world map, this map needs more territories.

Are the divisions of china arbitrary, or are those the actual province borders? Either way, it'd be nice to see better titles for the bonus regions than Upper China and Lower China.

Nice start - play around with it and see what develops.

idea for bonuses:

Upper China - 3
Lower China - 3
All China - 1
North Korea - 2
South Korea - 2
All Korea - 1
Japan - 4

this according to the first post.

and the legend is also hard to read. i woz only just able to read it.

Are the divisions of china arbitrary, or are those the actual province borders?

the upper/lower division is arbitrary, the province borders are close, but i used liberty and put in the borders by hand.

im going to add prob about 2-3 to japan and and 6-7 to china.

Upper China=Manchura Lower China=Fukien

ill use these.

and ill add names to the areas....

might take me a few days. i gotta prep to go back to work tomorrow...

here is the second attempt...

somehow i ended up with 43 countries. suggest one to delete? pyongyang? tokyo?

manchura - 10 countries
fukien - 10 countries
n korea - 5 countries
s korea - 5 countries
japan - 12 countries
neutral - 1 country

total=43

how do the bonuses look? more for all of china?

should i make more sea connections? I was thinking beijing to seoul?

no more conections. its fine as it is.

as for the bonuses, heres my veiw wot they should be.

manchura - 10 countries - 4 borders - BONUS = + 6
fukien - 10 countries - 4 borders - BONUS = + 6
ALL CHINA = + 3
n korea - 4 countries - 2 borders - BONUS = + 3
s korea - 5 countries - 2 borders - BONUS = + 3
ALL KOREA = + 3
japan - 12 countries - 3 borders - BONUS = + 7

thats wot i would do.

u made a mistake. u put 5 contries for N. Korea, buts its 4 unless my eyes deceive me.

also, the colour of writing on S.Korea clashes with the bakground. maybe darker green for the bakground OR black for writing

there are currently 5 in north korea - pyongyang is a small area (its the capital of nkorea). I think i will delete it though and make north korea 4. that will take the total down to 42. divisible by 6.

i agree. ill make skorea darker, i want all the fonts to be the same.
