For those who also be interested to contribute ideas, suggestions, or advice for another France map in (the early stages of) progress, check the link above. i'm working on it with two other people--we're trying to develop a complete and accurate map of France today, including all 92 departments, 20 regions, (and possibly the 6 colonies as well).

---The Final Forge period has concluded for the France 18th Century Map. All objections have had their time. The Foundry and I hereby brand this map with the Foundry Brand. Let it be known that this map is now ready for live play (barring any Lack vetoes).

Conquer Club, enjoy!

And just so people know, we're going to keep maps that are in [Beta] stickied for easier reference for Oaktown. Once they come out of Beta, Oaktown will destickify. :)

Paris/Isle-de-France are supposed to start neutral? Cause they don't.

It should be made obvious what Isle-de-France connects with.. I got a nasty surprise
beacuse I thout it was contained fully within a territory...

As it is a start neutral territory and you have to conquer it from the surrounding territories their is no way you can imagine it is surrounded by.... Isle-de-France!?!
But hey that's part of the learning curve on a new map...

Only read page 16-sure this has been brought up--but 12 territories to start-11 would be much better. Just my opinion. First time playing and I was done going as a second turn.

I was playing on this map and I noticed something.

Shouldn't the Holy Roman Empire be Saint-Empire Romain Germanique or Saint-Empire Romain de la nation Germanique in French and not only Saint-Empire Germanique?

Saint-Empire Germanique is a common contraction but as you like to answer in your thread I'm not going to change any thing like this at that stage!

Always antagonising with me eh Pamoa? Always mentioning my maps when I bring up something on your map?

We never got along just because I tried my best to make your map better and you never appreciated the feedback I gave you, and believe me I dedicated your map a lot of time. It's when stuff like this happens that I hate the foundry. And believe me you took it to a personal level...

Just for your info:

http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint-Empire_romain_germanique

That's a link in French. You know it would be more appropriate to name it this way and it wouldn't take you more than 10 seconds to fix that. This is a mistake unlike what was brought up in my map about region listing, if you really want to compare stuff. Granted it's nothing that will affect gameplay, but I thought you would like it to be correct. And besides if you want to make more comparisons I am about to make a big modification to the gameplay of San Marino, even if it was already in beta mode. But I guess from now on I should just ignore your maps right?

Yes, I noticed that it is reported like that at times, but mostly in unofficial sources.

Isn't Saint-Empire Romain Germanique a more historically accurate way to report the name of the empire and the one officially used most in history books?

I am asking because a friend of mine who studies European History confirmed this to me. Even in your Latin version of the name it mentions Romanum which is Romain in French.

However thanks for the reply.
