The States of Asia, then. There are Asian nations currently without states (Kurds, Palestinians, Tibetans etc). I am not arguing they all should, but what we have here are the states' boundaries. There IS a difference.

Priority should be keeping it under Asia in the clusterfuck of a map selection menu CC has. It took me a long time to realize we had a China map because it was under Greater China.

How about Pan Asia? It's both catchy and appropriate.

Sadly, considering the number of posts lately, it looks like there might be a lack of interest, but that may be due to the lack of updates and the long fruitless discussion about the name of the map.

I absolutely love the idea to have a new Asia map to play! :)
A couple of quick thoughts:

- the name is the last important thing right now. For now use something like Greater Asia....or leave a new asia map.
- Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia looks weird...if possible i'd like to see another inset like the one used with Israel
- You should "cut" (or make gray) a part of Papua New guinea to match the real indonesian borders.

- Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, Baharein and Qatar, Malaysia and Singapore will surely create you some problems....lot of countries in so few space... :?
- The island labelled as indonesia is Sulawesi or Celebes

Well, it seems like people want to see an update, so an update they shall get!

This is where I currently am in terms of insets etc:

I guess the most important questions pertain to gameplay... let me have your thoughts please ;-)

How are the territory connections in the islands going to be arranged?

Also, you can possibly put Palau on this map. It wouldn't necessarily add much to the gameplay, but it is in the area.
Are the Kuril and Lakshadweep Islands part of their countries bonuses?

Also, why is Singapore part of the India bonus?

Yes! Love the Europa style meets Asia gameplay. Can't wait to have this live.

I agree with keeping Russia one big territory. but split up Azerbajan, Georgia, Armenia and make the 4 a bonus, imo.

You know I think I've come around on Russia being one giant territory. That might actually b pretty sweet.

Something is going to need to be done about fitting all the names in or close to in their territories. Pointy lines may be of help in this area. NK and SK might work for the Koreas if you move the word Japan over. Indochina and central asia are gonna be a problem, no immediate solution comes to mind. Maybe pointer lines?

Interesting that Taiwan doesn't connect to China...

I'm guessing bonus values will be thrashed-out later down the line?

Indochina looks a bit high (if China were held as an extended border then it would mean only 3 regions to defend), compared to the Orient being a bit on the low side considering how many regions need to be defended.

The Taiwan-China link is interesting and relates to the bonus value (with the link it would be easier to take (and fort defences around in adjacent games).

Otherwise, as mentionned above, the Europa style (plus caligraphy) is very appealing.

There's no reason to not start talking about bonuses now.

I'm going to stick with my guns, and keep Russia as one big territory. I might add in some of those very northern islands at some point (if it's becomes necessary). The Kuril Islands are also part of the Siberian bonus (even though that's not very clear just yet)

I'm not quite sure what to do with Malaysia, as part of Borneo is technically Malaysia as well... I might have to do something similar to "The Motherland" bonus on Europa.

I haven;t quite decided how to depict the territory connections in Indonesia (and I need to correct the label for Sulawesi). Should I add in any more island groups? I could proabbly squeeze in one or two more between Sulawesi and New Guinea (which I will split in half).

I'm very aware that I need to make the small Arabian nations easier to see, but that will come in due course.

My thoughts:
1. Your zoomed-in portions of the map are all over the place.
2. Is Singapore apart of Indian Subcontinent?
3. The legend is a bit hard to read.
4. It needs to be more obvious whether or not Afghanistan connects to China and whether or not Bangladesh connects to Burma.
5. It's not clear what continents Maldives, Lakshadweep Islands, and Kuril Islands go to.
6. I have no clue what "Malay" is referring to in the legend.
7. As for the bonuses, I think what you have is decent, except...
-Mid Asia should be +6
-Indochina +5
-The Orient +4
-Indonesia +3

I hope my criticism wasn't too harsh. But keep on trucking! This map will be great.

Most of our present discussion seems to be more appropriate for the Gameplay Workshop, and seeing that all required pieces of the map are present, get over there.:p
