It happened at the same time as they introduced clickable maps. There was nothing wrong with it before that. I can say that with almost 99% certainty, because I played a South Africa turn about half an hour before the clikable update, and another one about 10 minutes after that.
.

It has nothing to do with clickies. The error is in the XML.

I didn't touch the XML. Let alone every coordinate by the same distances in the same directions.

I haven't identified what causes this to happen yet, but it is certain that the distorted coordinates are actually in the xml. I don't know how it is possible.

Go look at it in the map inspector, http://www.conquerclub.com/mapmaker/index.php it shows that the coordinates are wrong even there.

What you need to do is fix the coordinates in the xml.

Is it possible that one of the tools used for editing the XML was running in a browser at a zoom level other than 100% and got confused? I, for one, have not used chipv's Map XML Wizard in that way, but I could see someone changing the zoom to fit the whole large map and the toolbox onto the screen without overlap. Maybe the point conversions get messed up in that situation.

The thing is, it worked when the first map went live. Then BOOM it felt like not working.

It's a very odd phenomenon. Perhaps the internet is becoming sentient and is trying to communicate with us by messing with XML files?

Quick, someone compare the messed up coordinates to the real ones. Perhaps we can discern a message by analyzing the pattern of differences.

Ok, what's the holdup here, why are the coords still messed up?

It's kinda annoying in the games.

The issue is, you need to fix the coords on the xml, and then post the updated xml.

This map needs it's borders more clearly drawn so that you don't put troops in one zone thinking you can attack what appears to be bordering it, only to find out you can't. It cost me a game :( I hate when the borders aren't clear.

Using Jota's assistant again, it screws it up even more. I made sure the length and width are correct, and they were. Entered coordinates and this is what I get. They are all still off proportionally. I'm about to leave the house, so I'll figure it out when I get home, I'm posting this to keep you in the loop.

2011-05-31 17:19:17 - phantomzero deployed 3 troops on Rustenburg
2011-05-31 17:19:20 - phantomzero assaulted Pretoria from Rustenburg and conquered it from Terry Nutkins
2011-05-31 17:19:30 - phantomzero ended the turn

Visually I don't see that Pretoria and Rustenburg have a border. Am I missing something or is this a mistake?

The black partially dotted lines are the borders and even though the mountain stretches into the region it doesn't cut Pretoria in half, so the little bit above the fort is also part of 'Pretoria". The fort is inside the region and isn't separate as you assume?
