I edited the XML from the old XML to ensure the territories are in the same order so as to prevent messing up games.

I know not all CC maps have to be 100% geographically accurate, but just wondering if there's a specific reason why the Yukon/Alaska border is skewed. It appears all the other international boundaries on the map (where they are delineated) are totally realistic. But for the Yukon you've made the border jagged and have it indent to the west, when in reality it's straight-lined from north-to-south:

http://www.travelalaska.com/~/media/Ima ... al_new.gif

Not a big deal if you want to keep it, I guess, but figured it was worth pointing out because it's easily "fixed" if it's just an oversight.

Like the map overall. Good work.

The border is 100% accurate. It's simply a matter of map projection, ie. the north-south axis doesn't go straight on the map.

edit. oh, you mean between yukon and alaska... yeah, I don't know, I had some reason for drawing the border that way but I can't remember what...

I guess I could draw it straight, it's not a big deal.

Cool. Wasn't a big deal on my end either... just wanted to save you from having people bitch afterward if it was unintentional.

One other quick question/thought. And this one doesn't bother me no matter which way you decide, either, but does seem worth raising...

Any thought process behind a sea route from Nova Scotia to Quebec? I only ask because the St. Lawrence has plenty of bridge crossings, particularly in the area of Montreal, so a bridge connection from Nova Scotia to Quebec would make more sense. I'm guessing the argument against it is that a bridge would crowd too close to New York?

Actually I just figured a sea route would be clearer, but I guess a bridge could work too...

Nice work, natty. I look forward to playing on N. America again without wanting to scrub my eyes out afterwards.

My only gripe is how Pennsylvania sticks out awkwardly. Would be better abbreviated and on land, imo. But that's a trivial matter.

I hate abbreviations. They force you to check back and forth between the map and legend, and I try to avoid them whenever possible.

Just noticed this thread. I like the map as a whole except the images all over the place. They make it look cluttery and add nothing to the appeal of the map.

Well, if most like them, that's fine I guess. It just seems cluttery because you throw a bunch of extra stuff that is not needed on the map. I don't care that much, because I hate North America in general, but I think the map would be better without them.

yeah man, I liked North America, before it was popular. I'm totally into South America now. It's way more indie. :geek:

Pfft, Central America is way cooler.

In seriousness, I think the icons are pretty unique, few maps have such sort of embellishments, and I think they integrate pretty well overall.

Or is it its own special continent?

on a related note, I see nothing wrong with this map.

If you're worried about the territories matching, don't, I made the XML by taking the current XML and just editing the territory names and coordinates... so the territories are in the same order, no worries there.

If there's another reason for needing the list just let me know and I'll write it up...
