2012 Pumpkin Carving Contest

Postby Gilligan on Tue Oct 09, 2012 8:29 pm

Hello hello all!

Like last year, we're doing a pumpkin carving contest again. This year, it'll be a bit more....worth it. I bring to you...

Carve a Pumpkin

Using the image below, carve this pumpkin! Color/carve the pumpkin however you like and send all entries to Gilligan. The entries will then be sent to multiple judges in an anonymous manner and a winner will be determined.

Prizes: First place will get a General Achievement Medal and 3 Months Premium) and second/third place will also get a General Achievement Medal. You must use the image below!

AS A SPECIAL BONUS, the pumpkins will appear on the LIVE map Knights as koontz1973 graciously offered to edit the entries into his map. The map will go live with the pumpkins after the contest has ended. You may want to carve your pumpkin so that it'll be not too blurry when resized to a smaller dimension.

Rules:
1. You cannot resize the image
2. Use an image editing software to create your pumpkin
3. Upload it to a hosting site such as Photobucket.com
4. Send it to Gilligan with subject "Pumpkin"
5. All entries must be received by CC Time: 2012-10-19 23:59:59

Have fun!

Yes, just so that everyone has a chance to get on the map.

Word. I'm very excited about my pumpkin. I haven't done any graphics since the Christmas map contest, so I'm rusty, but motivated.

Looking forward to seeing all the entries on the map. Hope we get a lot as the map can fit 30+ easily.

Thanks Koontz, You da man.
Funnily enough this is going to be my first carved pumpkin.

Must it resemble a face?

No - in fact, the winner last year did not resemble a face, so be creative :)

It does not matter how it looks at this size. remember, when I shrink it, a lot of the finer details/mistakes will be hard to see. ;)

I'm with you that a public vote could be more fun... however i think they've tried it in the past and it just turns in to a popularity contest - even if they are posted without the names, people still pm friends/clanmates/their mother and get them to vote for entry #x.

Public votes are a complete waste of time. Glad only Gilligan knows whose is whose, but I would not put it past him to give a quick wink wink nudge nudge to the other judges.

Wonder how many we got?

Gilligan, can I get the pumpkin or pumpkins of you soon so I can get them on the map sooner rather than later. Also, the names would be nice so I can add those too. How long before the winner is announced?

Last year, results were announced about a week after the entry deadline, for whatever that's worth.
