I was kinda hoping that they would have fixed the API by now, so that I could use Tour Stats again, but I guess I will have to count up the kills manually now...

What an amazing Finals series! I had a quick look at these games a few times and got the general impression that it was a close series, but I didn't stop to add up the scores until today when the last game ended, and here is what I found. "Close series" is inadequate. What we've got here is a genuine photo finish!

In third place we have uckuki, holder of 100 medals, winner of 56 tournaments including one of mine, sometimes mentioned as the best overall player on CC. Racking up 25 points in the Final, he won't be winning this one, but finishing 3rd in a field of 40 is no mean feat!

In second place we have azak848, holder of 56 medals, winner of 15 tournaments including one of mine, an event immortalized almost two years ago now in Issue 49 of the CC Dispatch. Azak scored 26 points in the Final, just the slimmest of margins ahead of uckuki. What a performance!

At the very pinnacle of the tournament, we find regan the great, holder of 38 medals including only 6 tournament cups. Regan already won the GA medal for most wins in the first 8 rounds of this tournament. Regan also squeezed 26 points out of the Finals series, forcing me to apply the tiebreaking rules. The first tiebreaking rule was "most wins in the final" which was 3 each for uckuki, azak, and regan followed by "most kills in the final" which was 20 for both azak and regan. I therefore had to apply the third tiebreaking rule, "most wins in the whole tournament." In this category regan the great stands above the others. Having already won 4 games in the regular season put him ahead of azak in this very close finish. (I didn't even count the 2 special games that regan had won in the special tiebreak series for the GA.)

What a way to finish a tournament! I wish they could all be this close.
