Whilst some tournaments claim the winner is the best player on CC. My tournament wouldnt boast that, but winner would obviously be the most cunning and devious player. Settings - Doubles (!!), world 2.1, auto, sequential, chained, nukes, sunny no-trench, 30 rounds.
Round 1 - (32 players) 16 Doubles - Elimination style The only actually winner in a game (player going through to next round) is the player on winning team with most troops at end. 1 of winning team goes through not both. So you need to work as a team to beat opponents whilst also being ready to stab partner in the back. It's neither assassin or terminator as still requires teamwork. With the exception of round 1 - for every round a player does not take a region they will have a negative removed from their final troop count. A negative final troop count for winning player also results in elimination. Non attacks rounds troop subtractions, Once -1, Twice - 2, 3rd -4 4th - 8, 5th -16 and so on.
Round 1 tiebreaker - If there is an uneven number of players moving to next round, eliminated players on winning team will play-off( classic, assassin, auto, seq, chained, nukes, sunny non-trench).
Round 2 - (8 players) 4 Doubles - Round Robin (playing each of other 3 teams) Using the above Rules, the four players with highest number of wins will progress. If a tie-breaker is required then: (classic, assassin, auto, seq, chained, nukes, sunny non-trench), hopefully not but if required this format will be used until all four progressing players identified.
Final - (4 players) 2 doubles 50 rounds in final settings and rules the same. Tournament award will only be to the Player with highest troop count at end of Game.
You may sign up as doubles team for first round, obviously will be a short friendship. It's backstabber's guild so nothing is personal so don't expect any truces to last - and no foeing people - it's all in fun.
Ugh, this tournament is appealing and repulsive at the same time! I will either hate this tournament, or love it. Sign me up. Taking chances is part of the game.

Ok, this tournament, as is, will not work. Here's why:
You have to play at least 3 games to win a tournament. You have a setup for the winner to play two games.
In addition, with the settings you have listed, it's highly unlikely that games are going to finish within 30 rounds. Which means no one would advance past round 1.
So, if you can fix those two issues, the tournament is fine. The premise of backstabbing is fine as well for the tournament.

Rather than increasing starting player to 64, have changed R2 to round robin.
