Managing Friends in Groups

Postby jackal31 on Tue Jul 09, 2013 7:28 am

Concise description:
  • Both friends and foes are managed in the control panel and it would be good to offer a grouping of friends for specific needs.

Specifics/Details:
  • Be able to create a folder of friends or already allowing a clan group to be available to pick in the pm list would be easier than thumbing through and individually picking each member. The way it is now, there is no way to pick an entire group of friends for a mass pm without having a prior file different from what is available on CC.

    Different groups could include:
    Clan Members
    Quads Mates
    Trench Mates
    Complete Buffoons

Each group could be managed to how each user would like to identify their friends. In addition to having friends grouped up, a master list could be included in case someone has 18 different groups and cannot find their friend (for those with obsessive issues).

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • I get many pm's from other members who use lists that are created from files to send mass pm's about games, this would help those members organize their friends to target other specific members. Being involved in the clan world would allow a faster posting to the group. This would save time and offer more structure to the friends list.

Another quick thought was to add the rank symbol next to the friends name in the list. But this would probably be a different suggestion.

I have to say (grudgingly) that these are all good suggestions.

This would be especially helpful for TO's.

Adjustable Buddy List

Postby ViperOverLord on Mon Jul 15, 2013 12:45 am

Concise description:

It would be very helpful to be able to have categories for the buddy list. For instance:
  • Clan Mates
  • Forum Friends
  • Casual Gamers
  • Freestylers
  • Speed Game Teammates

Specifics/Details:

It would be important to be able segment and personalize the names of the sub-categories as various people will have various interests. The more buddies people have, the more important it becomes to be able to see the categories of players at a glance. Otherwise, it's jumbled and needlessly time consuming.
