Makes you wonder if the Red Sox had planned to pick off Wong knowing a rookie might get anxious off the bag. McCarver made the comment earlier how Napoli shouldn't of even been holding Wong and instead covering the field.

I was thinking about that too. But I also didn't expect Wong to be far off the bag anyway considering his speed and who was at bat.

Exactly... Cardinals needed 2 runs to extend the game,
so he certainly wasn't going to steal second base
with two outs. What a mindless fuckup eh?

I was pulling for the Soxs tonight and will probably switch
to the Cards for Game 6, just to get a Game 7.

Lester is pitching very well but there is a 0% chance Big Papi isn't going to win the MVP if the Red Sox win. He only needs 3 more hits to set the record for most hits in a World Series.

Even if the Red Sox lose the series, depending on how Waccha pitches tomorrow, he is probably the most deserving of the award. If Waccha pitches a gem and the Cards win the series, he's definitely deserving. Otherwise, if Papi keeps up his pace, there's no one on the Cardinals that is really wowing me.

Papi also tied the consecutive hits in a series
and St.Louis is fortunate he's the only hot bat.

Of course now we take away the batting pitchers
and he becomes the designated hitter.

Just watched the end of this game. Good series, good year. My favorite memory of the year: I was watching Sunday Night Baseball (sic) and the American commentators were joking about how much the Blue Jays failed. It makes sense for Canadians to make fun of the Jays, but when the Dodgers are playing the D-backs, I fail to see how that was relevant to them. I guess that`s how big of a story it was.

BULLSHIT ALERT: David Ortiz winning the MVP. Designated Hitter isn`t a real position. Might as well give it to the quarterback next time.

Ortiz was only the DH at Fenway and the singular hot bat in the series,
tying the most consecutive hits and times walked. His batting matched
the entire team offense of Boston for the six game series.

Red Sox timely hitting was unreal, exquisitely economical,
and coupled with some great pitching totally lethal.

If only, then again I'd be poor because I'd always put money on the Red Sox, Broncos, Pens and Heat.

The offense was just horrendous for the Cardinals. Good job Red Sox.
