these come from a open source game, so i think they are free to use. If you want i can copy and paste the copyright thing in the game files.
Or if you pm your email i can send you all the images and the copyright file to you so you can read it at your own leisure.

edbeard...the curved attack lines really lift you map and make it look like it is "designed". the straight lines were too stilted and "straight forward"...the map flows much better on the eyes. Keep going...this is turning out swell. :)

Telvannia I love those ships, but they look a little too realistic for the map I think.

When/If I do a "High Seas" map those would be perfect, but for this cartoony style I don't think they are quite right.

Thanks though!

Unless I get any other comments, I'm going to work on the small version. That should only take an hour or so, but I'm not sure when I'll get the time!

i agree about the ships. and i think you can start the work on the small version.

ed

the only change you need to make id the removal of the connection from Cuba to Florida.

maybe Cuba can be a dead end if you go there from the US but, you can't get from cuba to US. 1 way only.

think about it.

the numbers are centered and the small map looks good.

PS: i don't think the one way thing is good.

if this was a modern map I'd consider the florida cuba thing, but due to the era it represents, it doesnt make sense. Furthermore, and more importantly, there needs to be a connection from orange to green, and this location is the most sensible

regarding the current vote, since there is no solid majority I'm going to leave the routes as I currently have them.

Sorry I don't have time to read more of the thread and probably missed the reason why, but I preferred the legend text from back on page 4. Map's shaping up nicely edbeard, hopefully I'll have time to give it a good look over soon.

Sorry I don't have time to read more of the thread and probably missed the reason why, but I preferred the legend text from back on page 4.
it was changed to match the more cartoon style of the map...

 dont worry about keyogi hes a little confused!

furthermore, many people, including a certain banana man, were confused about the spelling of words

i personally find the blue in the key hard to read because it is too dark like the black so it all seems to be one and same.

the small one is still a bit hard to read, but im sure people can get around that, the large one is fine though.

A couple of little things seem a bit out of place.

The white outline/glow to the text in the title seems perhaps a little fuzzy or low quality to me. You've got nice clean lines and colours everywhere else on the map, so this stands out a little. Maybe see if you can clean this up with a stronger or more consisten outline/glow?

I really like the new ships, I think they're quite fitting with the rest of the map. However, they seems to be floating over the water rather than sitting in it. Perhaps some shadow or wave effects around them would help, I'm not really sure.

Good work though edbeard, you've got yourself a nice map.

took out all the noise from the title and added waves around the ships. I think I like the new look a lot.

well...im running out of things to fix on this one...all the fixes are good.

I do think the guiria to trinidad connection looks a little bit funky...maybe a little less arch on it...or have it connect farther to the left of guiria so you can smooth it out a bit...

Well jeez louise! :) Lets see what we've got here in this map...

I'm loving the look you've got going. The map has a distinctive colorful feel, which I like. I know there are a number of people who complain about some of the 'darker/hard to read' maps we have currently avialable for live play, so I think this nice bright map will be a welcomed addition.

Regarding the army shadows, does their circumference edge look a little odd or jagged? Would it be possible to make them smoother feeling? Also, have you checked the capability of the army shadows holding coordinates?

Also, concerning the names, I'm not sure it is the font or if it is my eyes, or what, but do they look a little pixely and not as smooth and clean as the map in other places feels?

Also, do you have a small map we could look at?

yes, as telvannia stated, the army circles do hold the coordinates. here are large and small both with changes as per your suggestion

http://www.sendspace.com hosts text files...and Andy knows how to get them from there....even if you're an unpaid member.
