Welcome to the Second Eclipse month of 2014.

The 8th of October gives a nice treat with a lunar eclipse for the hemisphere centered on the Pacific Ocean.
Our challenge, however, focuses on the solar eclipse of October 23rd:
Image
The shadow is where the partial eclipse can be seen. Since the majority of the eclipse can be seen from the Arctic, and less of the eclipse is visible from Greenland, full points will be given to Arctic games, while only partial points will be given to Greenland games.

Points of Reflection:
1)The Challenges have totally changed this year. This challenge was designed in February! As such, it has some peculiar scoring rules.
2)The way I have determined the challenge level. There is a poll here. Since I have 25 votes now, I randomize a # between 1-25. Since I got a 14, I counted up from the bottom and that put me in the 40% range. I will consult that poll for every challenge that uses the Split Score System. You can still vote, as you vote, you determine the future!

NO SIGN-UPS REQUIRED - Everyone is eligible!
To sign up all you need to do is join and win at least one game started between October 1 and October 31 with the following settings:

Settings
Map: Arctic (or Greenland for part points)
Players per game: Five (5)
Game Type: Assassin
Initial Troops: Automatic
Play Order: Sequential
Spoils: No Spoils
Reinforcements: Parachute
Special Gameplay: FOG mandatory; Trench optional
Round Length: Casual or speed

Games with bots are not eligible!

Medal Criteria
You need at least 500 Points for the Medal, including 1 of each token (meaning 1 win on Arctic and 1 win on Greenland is required)

Tokens are awarded as follows:
Bronze Token - Joining a Game
Silver Token - Winning a Greenland Game
Gold Token - Winning an Arctic Game

If you join 25 or less games:
Bronze = 5
Silver = 50
Gold = 100

If you join 26 or more games:
Bronze = 1
Silver = 5
Gold = 10

The settings that must be present are Arctic (or Greenland), 5 Player Assassin, No Spoils, Parachute, Automatic, Sequential, Fog of War.[/i]
Please double check and make sure you have all these settings set.
The other settings are open. Round Limits are not mandatory, but are recommended to make sure all games finish on time.

Wins will still be counted until November 30th.

some new arctic games made ; dont let the 20 rounds worry you; they all seem to finish < 10
I wish either my father or my mother, or indeed both of them as they were in duty both equally bound to it, had minded what they were about when....

If 2 player fog game,please allow 12 hour snap courtesy, or post what I could have seen.... Thank you

Too bad there is no point/points in playing less then 25 games.
Premiums get all the points :-(

Who does better, the guy who wins 2 gold, 2 silver and acquires 8 bronze vs a guy who wins 2 gold, 2 silver and acquires 14 bronze medals.
Theoretically a guy could simply join (and deadbeat) umpteen # of games and win, if I am not mistaken?

Where's the fun in dong that. Deadbeats should be stripped of the bronze pts simple.

This thread doesn't have a faq; but that was ruled out already.

Since tokens aren't stripped automatically (I have to call in the strip), there is a 0% chance of deadbeating down to the right # of games.
