"Message Team" Button

Postby dshedd on Tue Nov 05, 2013 6:02 pm

I think there should be a "message team" button on team games. Instead of having to open my inbox, remember my teammates names, and send them a private message - there should be a button next to say "team two" that says - "send private message my team." Have that button open a "compose message" with the teammates already filled out in the recipient box. Perhaps have the subject line filled with the game number or something.

That is both the concise and long description... anyways, just a thought.
It will affect the community by letting us private message our teammates easier in order to coordinate effectively in team games.
I love you all. You rock.

Might want to note in OP that there is a plug-in to do this.

but, there is already a "teammates only" button on the chat box... ummmm... how much easier do you need it to be? i have played the majority of my games on CC in team games, and have never had any of my team members complain that it is too difficult to communicate within the game chat dialogue... why do you need the option to also PM them? if you need to PM them, then click on their name in the game and hit PM... i think this is a waste of time. a way to communicate DIRECTLY with your tream members IN THE GAME, already exists...-Jésus noir

OP's brainstorming session (i kid, i kid..)

This is a very good idea.
@Owen, when you are playing a quad game for example, you may want that your 3 teammates come to the chat to discuss your turn. In this case, they will not magically know it is your turn, nor that you need their help to play your turn. To be able to send a pm to all your teammate at once would be a gain of time.

For example I currently have 36 teams game, and in each of them I'd like my partner to come and comment my turn. This option would help me gain a lot of time.

question... i don't get alerts from CC for turns or Pm's or anything.. so, how would this help us if i were on a team with you? i see what you are saying, but i think most people that have tons of games tend to check them at the same times of the day... when i have a lot of games, i check with my coffee and wall/pm people for games that some input is needed, others i just roll... so, is this kind of dependent on people/partners getting notifications from CC? obviously if you choose to use it, you would turn them on... just kind of trying to understand the bigger picture...-Jésus noir

Let's say you are playing your game in the morning. And you see I sent you a pm, then you'll check the game.
If I don't send you a pm, you only check the games in which it's your turn.

Owen,

The only thing in game is a chat box.
Quality Clans will discuss play constantly thru out the game.
When you have a thought to discuss your teammates wont know
unless you inform them....hence the "In game PM Teammates Button".
As Don said.... Your teammates wont know you wrote something "in game"
unless you inform them. Owen.... not everyone is like you and on site 24/7 checking every page imaginable informing everyone of your superior intellect.

It works on my Firefox 30.0 and Win XP. I'm pretty sure it works on my desktop (newer Firefox, Win 7).

Nonetheless- this is still a useful feature that should be incorporated into the site. What if I was at another computer or accessing from my phone?

Yeah, the problem with CC's integrated 3rd party features is that it makes the entire thing laggier. Whenever I use the CC "interface," shit gets whack. So, I dropped it all and reverted back to the 3rd party features because they're superior.

But hey, if y'all wanna ignore what already works and instead throw more crap into an inferior interface, then go ahead. Make sure y'all keep that lag thread locked too.

Chrome says to me "App, extensions and user scripts can not be added from this website". It then downloads the file "main.user.js". When I open the file it gies me "Microsoft JScipt runtime error"...........

This would be a dgz345 issue. However, he is absent at the moment, and I don't know who else to refer you to. Send him a PM, he might check in on his vacation and be able to help. At least he will have it when he gets back.

It doesn't take "top notch computer skills" to find and follow simple instructions.

Either you're lazy, and/or you lack low-level 'computer skills'.

Captain obvious strikes again...............
Point is this shouldn't have to be a 3rd party program.
Besides that....this is a place for suggestions,
do you really think your negative comment is necessary?
It simply would be a useful CC tool.
