France Launches Driverless Bus that Requires Human Operator,

Postby saxitoxin on Wed Nov 08, 2017 9:13 pm

In the latest innovation from Gaul, a French company has launched a self-driving shuttle bus that requires a human attendant to ride aboard and monitor the driving computer at all times.

http://www.zdnet.com/article/self-drivi ... las-vegas/

Today it took its first commercial trip with members of the public. Despite the fact the French driverless bus has the same number of human staff on-board (1) as buses with drivers (1), it immediately crashed after pulling onto the street. No injuries were reported, except to a nation's already heavily-bruised pride.

Well, whoever that startled caveman is, he should really start using sunscreen.

He wasn't the guy not driving the bus, was he?

I m sorry testing innovation hurts so much your filthy republican ass saxi.
You know, before being certain to use a prototype, you might need to do some tests...
Like a pharmaceutical company that would launch directly a new revolutionary product before years of testings.

Anyways, french try to put in place driverless busses, americans try to build a wall, go figure who the dumbasses are.

Ps: your mum asked me to tell you that she couldn't find any marzipan rittersport, she bought some milk chocolate ones and wants to know if you're ok with that.

How many French does it take to change a light bulb?

15. A robot to unscrew the light bulb, a human repairman to supervise the robot, a supervisor to keep an eye on the repairman, the homeowner to monitor the supervisor... etc.

So the robot is french? And you can't make a joke that adds up to 15, not even adding frenchmen on strike, trade unionists and politicians? fail

In the free world it's possible to make a joke without having to get a trade union involved in its delivery.

I love France so this hurts to write but, obviously the Robot like the computers on that bus are made in China.

Bon chances finding anything electronic besides certain chips that are not.

Chinese driverless vehicles have already proven themselves capable of driving thousands of kilometers at speeds of up to 120km/h without incident:

If France had used robots produced in the advanced economy of China rather than insisting on using its own swamp water European robots, the bus in OP probably would not have crashed.

I think the "joke" is on him in a way. The premiss is that the French are dodging work and enjoying a bottle of cheap wine with the best parts of food, while the Chinese are busting their asses to get a bowl of rice with a piece of tripe on it.

Really the two of you should be making fun of Americans for selling out industry and farmers, "working" 60 hours a week in lifeless offices, plus 12 hours riding public transit, for their Tyson mass produced fake chicken nuggets with a side of "French" fries drowned in synthetic cheese sauce.

What saxi didn't tell you was that an American driverless bus also had a crash in its first hour of work.

actually, it looks like it's the same story. i didn't really look too much into the article, but it seems like it's some shuttle created by a google company... and this happened in las vegas. looks like saxi is a bit confused.

->bottom line, mrswdk's joke hits a new low

Was it?

The bus probably would have worked fine in France where people don't try to drive into busses, since they tried it in Vegas...

Meanwhile a tourist in a McDonalds in France wonders why the quarter pounders taste funny. "Something is wrong with the "100% beef" here."
