Not sure about how the details work, and how you will practically handle uneven number of registrants, but I'd like to play in this anyway.

if uneven registrants, instead to have a 1vs1 qualification round, I will proceed by a kind of round robin mode. (Sorry I will add this to the 1st post, so thanks for this good question!)
