well I don't want to give anything away, but found that odd that there seems to be some contradiction regarding that. seems possible there could be only one (especially given MB's last game), since it wouldn't end the game, as we're joining up at the colony. we won't really know I guess.

There might be only one mafia (saboteur) but then I think it'd be likely that there was a serial killer as well... like a crazed crewmember or something... maybe a paranoid cop?

Just food for thought.

1 sabeteur would surely be silly, I mean what happens if we get him on the first night. we still have 3 days before we reach the colony, do we sit around twiddling our thumbs until we get there.

Tres, we wouldn't know there was only one, and would spend the other days killing each other off. Why did Auto make it singular in the intro thread?

You must also find this saboteur and eliminate him.

It seems our mission is two-fold. Travel to the colony and eliminate "this saboteur" before we get there.

I'm not saying there's only one, just wondering why Auto is contradictory.

There are several people on this vessel that have a history of being instigators and evilly aligned characters a majority of the time. I also hate "random.org" votes...

So I withhold my vote until more people talk, but I'd like to say that my eyes are on those with previous evil characters.

Why? Past is past.. People who were evil in other games could be innocent and vice-versa.

BTW, I'll be busy the rest of the night.. RL problems..

I keep my eye on them because I know how they played their evil characters before... It is insight into how they may play them now... I'd say that it is a fairly intelligent way to play, as we have nothing else to go on.

When I first started playing, I had a hard time forgetting who was who in a previous game. Sure, keep any eye on how people play, but don't let that cloud your judgment.

4 voteing by random org, it shows that he may be a wild cannon and cause problems to people trying 2 figure it out in the real way (reading players)

I'd like to ask that no one reveal their Win Condition or Role at this time. Right now, these are two unique pieces of info available only to townies. When we have an actual suspect, then we can ask them these questions, but for now let's keep that quiet.

When I was mafia in previous games, someone trying to establish themselves as town would let that slip. Any keen mafia can pick up on that and use it. So hush.

Darn it i just went and read the other thread first by accident...

I don't really know any first-day strategies to go on, so any ideas?

All first day votes are random, whether people use random.org or not. My vote for koolaid man was just as random as a random.org vote.

A. Get my name right.

B. So far, there is so little evidence that a random vote is just as good as any other vote. Right now, we don't know if there are a few mafia, or if there's only one. Since there's so little evidence right now, a random vote has just as much success rate of picking off a mafia then an "informed" vote.
Like wicked said, the first day is a bunch of talk and a random vote. The talking that does get done is all hearsay and paranoia.
So you can continue to believe that a day one random.org vote is dumb, or you can use your head and realize that it's all a game of probability on day one.

C. Read my post. I clearly said if any convincing evidence pops up, I'm going to change my vote. For now, it stays random

I believe using random.org is stupid... It will be a random vote, obviously, but we can at least bother to make educated guesses before jumping to conclusions... True randomness is not what is called for here... Eductaed guesses, however, are very useful.

Ank, what are you going to base this so-called educated guess on??? Random votes rarely go through to lynch. They're just to get people talking.
