+1
This site will be crawling and timing out, meanwhile can watch things at real speed on youtube.

Just because CC is the only site, still does NOT mean the problem is at CC or its servers. Who knows what garbage is in your cache files.
Almost 10,000 active users and complaints of lag issues are from less than 20 members. And none of those complaining are willing to do what was asked from them so that we can look into the fault.
It sounds more like trolling than actual asking for real assistance.

this statement is unreasonable. everyone knows that "all 10,000" users do not read or post in the forums. i'd bet there is even less than 9500 that read or post.
i have off and on lag issues. but it don't matter to me much, i quit playing this dumb game and only check on the forums from time to time.

Try turning off all add-ons such as BoB, Maprank etc etc and disable Greasmonkey or Tampermonkey.

Don't do that, you'll have to use the panel interface. Bork.

Done that kiddo. They no longer work anyway, can't be fucked with attempted roll backs etc.

Your response was a troll, and under previous management would have made you guilty of baiting. Get your head out of the sand. Don't blame the users. Have done ping test etc.

I was somewhat undecided, but now I'm 100% convinced -- ever since I moved from my wife's computer to my laptop. On my wife's computer, I was very often getting lag and timeouts. On my laptop, I almost never do. I didn't want to use a laptop, because these tiny keys are too small for my big fat fingers, but my wife was bitching about me constantly hogging her computer and I finally made the switch. Guess what? Games load first time, every time. I get no timeouts or lag except on extremely rare occasions.
Still going through the same cable modem and the same router. Still using the same version of Firefox with mostly the same settings. Yet, CC crawls on her computer and jets along on mine. There's only a few minor differences. Hers has Windows XP, mine has Vista. Hers has an antivirus installed, mine does not. She has JRT installed, because she plays Pogo games, I do not. Hers has Foxy's version of Assault Odds, mine only has dgz's version. Dgz's version of Assault Odds doesn't work, and there's no place to download Foxy's any more, so if I need to calculate an escalating sweep I still hop over to my wife's computer and use the functional version of Assault Odds. I also hop over there if I need to write a long post, because it's still easier to do it on a real keyboard than the Lilliputian laptop keyboard. For the most part, though, I've gotten used to this thing, and an ordinary short post like this one I'll still crank out on this thing.
So yeah, switching from one computer to another, even on the same home network with the same router, was like night and day for me. If I wasn't sure before, I'm 100% convinced now that the problems the laggers are reporting rest with their systems, not with CC. Maybe your antivirus is hogging too many clock cycles, maybe you have JRT installed because of some other game you're playing, maybe one of your Greasemonkey scripts has some non-optimal routines in it, maybe something else. If there was something fundamentally wrong with CC's servers, the problems would be affecting everybody.

So I really think that some folk need to look at their own set ups / connectivity. Do some housekeeping on their PC's, check their own internet speed using a speed checker (don't rely on the advertised speed), do you have enough RAM ? (I have to close and reopen my browser periodically if I have too many tabs open), is all your software up to date with the latest versions, scan for malware using Malwarebytes, try a different browser, run trace routes to see if there's an obvious upstream problem.
There are probably loads more things too.
I used to have no problem. But tonight it is terrible. Running out of time several times during a turn. Since 2-3 hours. I'll just stop playing tonight and wait until tomorrow morning. Very annoyed.
Not sure how this works but putting my ip into the site you linked I got 42ms, when I put conquerclub adress I got 189 ms.

yeah had some pretty serious lag between 8pm and 10pm myself too. Often it just keeps lagging, but if I press F5(refresh page) the page loads faster.
Maybe you should try that too sometimes. Hopefully it'll help.

Yeah, ditto.
Had a fair bit of lag earlier this afternoon. Frequent use of the Refresh button broke it up.

I've been having the same problem for the past couple months:
"Communication with the server has timed out. Wait another 10 seconds?"
pops up multiple times for a single move.
I wait for 30 seconds for the central command to come up and then another 30 seconds for a selected game to come up. During the game i will make multiple moves with multiple server time out messages, then for some reason a few moves with no delay at all, then back to the time outs.
Maybe a terrorist group is hacking the site because we play "war games" LOL
I haven't seen many posts from the ops to tell us what is going on!

This really, really, really doesn't help.
First of all, you switched from one version of Windows to another. That alone indicates that there might be some incompatibility at the system level that you don't know of.
Second, if it was because of the JRT or the antivirus, that would make other pages slow, and not just CC, which is what's happening to us as we've REPEATEDLY pointed out.
Third, nobody asserted that there was something fundamentally wrong with the SERVERS. It might be a programming issue, something in the code that messes up with certain versions of Windows or particular configurations. The fact that CC is the only site that lags is VERY telling in this respect.
It really looks like people don't want to take this seriously.

i'll admit, as much as I want to hate on cc because of all the stupid visual changes to the site, I now have a different computer and new wifi provider, now I have 0 issues with the site. but now I just don't have map rank, chat glove, sending pm's to team via game screen, plus a multitude of other nice features that no one seems to care about because they're worried about handing out cyan stars for about 50 or so users that actually give a shit.

+1 to this, I can only run BOB and clickies now and they're temperamental. The panel interface is vile, seems like no common sense was used in its creation.
