I agree that we need a mod to keep the LGBT community under control.

This is exactly the sort of crap that we need a left handed mod to protect us from.

What issues are there honestly besides the ones that the OP starts? I have never seen another.

Here's one issue: the LGBT community talks out of both sides of the mouth.

For years, the gay have been saying that they are "born that way" that homosexual is "something you are" meaning it can't be cured.
Now, Judith Butler comes along 30 years ago and says that actually gender isn't "something you are" but it is "something you do".

So, if it's something you are, then the transgender can be cured. If it's something you do, then they can all be cured by doing something else. The only reason both schizophrenic versions of the story can coexist is because nobody is allowed to have an honest debate about the topic, either though gender studies is at almost every University.

So we need a moderator to settle the debate amongst the LGBT community: which is it - something you "do" or "are". Then, the sane world can at least attack only one argument instead of a flanking surprise attack.

Either way, if it's something you "are", so is being a bigot, and the rights of bigots should be respected. If it's something you "do", so is being a bigot, and the rights of bigots should be respected.

I can only assume you've had some sort of catastrophic brain malfunction after this and your previous antisemitic forum rant. Is there a condition where you might irrationally hate people who use both sides of their mouths when speaking?

I do need to ask, DY, is it possible that you've had a stroke? Have you been checked?

Do you think that LGBT issues are purely the product of me? Kind of a stretch, doncha think? I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that you're straight. I don't say that to dismiss you, but just as, hopefully, part of am honest discussion.

If you're willing, take a look at your reply again from a position where you're a minority. There are obviously issues, and there's a weird demand for those who bring up those issues to be the cause of those issues and thus punished.

I'm not sure if you managed to put yourself in another's shoes here, or even if you tried. I hope you understand a little bit more about why LGBT folk might be reticent about posting openly.

Hey now, please stop threatening Doomyoshi with strokes or death of any kind. That's totally inappropriate.

Doom, there is a difference between being gay and being transgendered. Also cured is a very poor choice of words to describe being gay, as it implies it is some sort of disease or curable condition (which is incorrect scientifically, regardless of your moral beliefs on the subject). Now being transgendered is not a uniform thing, it is more of a spectrum than any single specific condition. I would at least agree scientifically that someone born with both sets of gender equipment may be something that can be cured. But if its not a physiological condition, but rather an issue of self identification then 'cure' is once again totally the wrong term to be using. Yes, its all nuanced and compicated. Judith Butler is just one women with one opinion and I don't think she peaks for every gay/trans person out there...

Yes I am 100% straight

I also have many many gay friends.

What I dont understand is this is a gaming site, based on the game of Risk. That is what has drawn us all here.

Other then yourself, I have never seen or heard anything said positive or negative about lgbt. So why is it such an issue?

+1

Create a forum to post this kind of discussion ONLY in that forum. Just like the other forums have rules as to where/what you should post certain subjects.

I can hear crickets chirping in there as I type as you are right X. He is the only one I have seen with this issue also.

Can I ask you to do me a favour? Your gay friends- can you ask them to tell you if they're really comfortable expressing themselves openly in the places you do?

has anyone stopped you from being LBGT open? I mean you were able to open this thread weren't you? Said whatever you liked? Other said there opinions too, even if you didn't agree with them? How much more open could you hope it to be? I mean open is one thing, everyone agreeing with you... that's a whole nother thing.

What is there to express here in a gaming site about being gay?

"Hey pink, I want your territory, but I dont really want to attack you since I am gay. Can you please move out of that territory?"

Well, there's the kind of obvious stuff where even using the word "gay" could get you banned, and still gets you added punishment

I guess I'd like to see a forum here where being open is OK.

I'd say it's between my taint and my tailbone ;)

And it doesn't seem like anyone here is being banned, and several people have mentioned the word gay. Hooray! Problem solved!!! Freedom never tasted so sweet... with a salty finish ;)
