It's not that something is influencing the odds when the number of forces grow...it's that the OPPORTUNITY for the attacker to recover from "the fluke defender wins" rises in relation to the number of rolls that happen. Basically, the higher the number of rolls, the greater opportunity for "the math" to play out right.

Hah 3 vs anything is risky. When you have SO FEW attackers there is a high margin of error. 3000 vs 1000 and you would be much more certain of winning!
