Actually some decisions for tonight are getting clearer. Let's have some speculations on that.
carleone's night kill choice: Fircoal, either as townie cop or Solozzo's cop
Solozzo's night kill choice: /, as townie cop
/'s investigation choice: anyone but not Fircoal
townie doctor protecting choice: /, to keep the cop alive
Solozzo's doctor protecting choice: Fircoal, to keep him alive for getting results of his investigation
If those choices will be made, we will have no kill and two investigation results tomorrow!

Following Ga7's logic I now agree not to lynch him. If he is pro town on day 1 (I'm sure that he will work for Solozzo's later in the game, if he is not already working for them) he will be the target of mafia anyway tonight. Don't forget that Fircoal's character working for Sollozzo is also a big thread to carleone's, so he will be for sure the target of carloene family. Carleone's won't risk to leave him alive, otherwise he may share some valuable information with solozzo's after his investigation tonight.
So, why should we waste our day 1 lynch, even if Fircoal is already working for a mafia family. Let the other mafia family kill him.
Any other ideas?
.
McClusky extorted everyone. He didn't really work with anyone unless they were the highest bidder, and he had no allegiances...
That's why he is dangerous.
I'm not gonna unvote, but so far Ga7 and Kalish have come up with som interesting points throughout this game.
Like I said, though, we can't guarantee that Fircoal is even a cop. McClusky could be an SK, as he has no allegiances. So, by leaving him alive, we are giving him a chance to kill.

QFE. I didn't know there were day killers when the game started, did any of you? / would only assume there was a day killer if he knew from his role, i.e. "you're in a day mafia that acts during the day" and from talking to his scum buddies during the day.
So /, care to tell us how you knew there would be day killings before they happened?
DAMN! Good catch firth, and good to bring it back up, Wicked.

Yes, but just because you know the movie doesn't mean you know the setup. Like you said, one or more of these players may grow into scum, but don't be so sure that you know if they're scum now.
And did anyone see this?

From the day scene, the only other family mentioned is the Barzini family, so what makes you think that there's a Solozzo? And furthermore, why on earth would you assume that they have a doctor?

Solozzo worked for the Tattaglias... There is no Solozzo mob.

right, but he did come up with the McCluskey being an enemy of the Corleones which hadn't been brought up yet I believe...actually the fact that the Corleones might kill him anyway, so why waist a lynch.

No, we will get 2 kills (since most Scum have this funny little habit of targeting people who

Because only good Mafia is dead Mafia.
SFOS Lion & Selin they are both good players and yet they both want to protect Fircoal despite the fact that he claimed a scum roll. If Fircoal come out as Scum, I'm betting at least one of these two is scum as well.
My vote stays on Fircoal (YAY!

But we don't know for sure 100% that he's scum. By definition of his character, he should be scum, but I've been in a couple other mafia games where the mod didn't align them the way I would have, so you never know.
Plus if you weren't skimming, you'd know that I have a vote on Fircoal right now.

The fact that you voted Fircoal is stated in the post that I quoted. BUT, you also seem to like Selin's idea of releasing Fircoal to the wilderness (which is always a bad choice. For the wilderness.

). Hence the SFOS.

But we don't know 100% sure that he's scum! and the only good mafia is dead mafia, but mafia using their night kills to kill other mafia is also good, because then we can use our lynch in another direction. of course, there are probably a lot of variables each night, and we don't know if Fircoal will be found out for sure.
Anyway, I seem to be going in circles. I accept your SFOS, and somehow we need to decide what to do with Fircoal...

at this stage now several of us have made convincing arguments why fircoal should be saved i think our focus should now be on finding a new target at this stage we have looked at multiple ones but now its time to start focusing so we can have a meaningful pro town lynch today.
