Russian goalie would have probably fluffed it anyway did you see the howler from the other game? They weren't very impressive all in all and glad to see Algeria go through, you could really tell it meant something at the end of the game.

I agree, seems like a first time solution and not the sort of punishment a three time offender could expect to receive. Is FIFA and the football world afraid to punish star athletes for inexcusable conduct during games?

any team winning that isn't brasil is an unexpected team. otherwise, if you expect a team like costa rica or USA to win, it's probably because you drank way too much tea.

Juventus and Italy player Giorgio Chiellini has published a letter on his personal website regretting FIFA's sanction on Luis Suárez, assuring that he feels the punishment handed out is "excessive", and that his thoughts are with Luis and his family in this "very difficult period". After the biting incident with the Uruguayan forward, the Italian defender has wished to give some words of support to Suárez, understanding that a ban can be "really alienating for a player".

Apart from the FIFA ban and fine, Suárez has also lost his principal sponsor and is waiting to see what his club's reaction will be. Liverpool have asked for legal advice to study the case in detail, right in the middle of negotiations for the player's sale to Barcelona.

Chiellini's words: "Now inside me there's no feelings of joy, revenge or anger against Suárez for an incident that happened on the pitch and that's done. There only remain the anger and the disappointment about the match. At the moment my only thought is for Luis and his family, because they will face a very difficult period.

I have always considered unequivocal the disciplinary interventions by the competent bodies, but at the same time I believe that the proposed formula is excessive. I sincerely hope that he will be allowed, at least, to stay close to his team mates during the games because such a ban is really alienating for a player".

They dont need to punish him... they need to sent an example. 1 year minimum(literally destroy his carrier). Next one that will bite will get a warning(Do this next time and end up like Suarez). That's lifetime solution to dogs like Suarez.
