I was wondering what the religious make up of Conquer Club was so I figured why not ask?

I will start the ball rolling. I am an Atheist.

I chose other. I was raised a catholic but the whole idea of a specific, man-made religion is illogical. I'm not really an atheist though...I feel like there has to be a greater being, even if you CAN trace the Universe to a single, massively dense atom. SOMEONE had to have started it all.

I believe you mean Sikh, not Sheik. Different.
In response, I'm Episcopalian, Catholic Lite. All the rules, no Pope.

The difference between atheist and agnostic is similar to the difference between agnostic and any given religion on that list. Why put both into one category? :-s

They often tend to get lumped together :? . my goof I suppose.

*edit*

On second thought I think I will defend this option. They are both similar in that they reject any specific religious affiliation, and I feel the diffrences between them are less than some of the other options. Maybe I could have combined some of the other groups on there but I think the difrences between say Catholicism and the other christian faiths is larger than between agnosts and atheists.

Because agnosticism falls more into a category of secularism than of theism, I think it's safe to use the category. Some agnostics might separate themselves more from atheism, but many Baptists feel their differences with Methodism are just as acute. I think the category is a good one, since the goal was probably to be as inclusive as possible with the limits of our polling system, and the poll is probably better than others on the site that have tried to discern the same thing, at least on the first try.

Used to be Sikh, not I'll probably call myself agnostic. Weird thing in that the only part of Sikhism I don't believe is the "one god" part, all the philosophy, values and teachings I still think are spot on and try to follow in my life but I reject the central tenets.

That's also rather how I view my Baptist upbringing. I agree quite strongly with almost all of the philosophies and values.

This might be for another thread and I'm prepped to move to one.

Is there a dude that some sikhs believe is god? Some guys where I was working mentioned this once and everyone had to go so I never really got a chance to discuss it.

I have heard that Sikhism is a sort of fusion between a more moderate Islam and Hinduism. Is this an accurate description?

That's a hypocritical thing to say and it betrays your lack of knowledge concerning the matter.

Dunno about hypocritical but I have always found that argument to be very dissatisfying.
