I jerked off every time between classes. It sucked though, because we only had 3 minutes to get from class to class. So often times I'd have to walk through the hall with my hand in my pants.

Shitloads of caffiene every day. I was addicted. A Moutain Dew in the morning, a Frappacino (however you spell it) just before my first class, a bottle of tea for my next class, then lunch, then weight training (followed by either tea or iced coffee)/SSR (same, but during class) (depending on the day, it was either weight training or SSR), and then school got out. Repeat for the whole week.

I snoozed in class and drooled big puddles on my desks every day. Then, in ninth grade, they told me I was testing at college levels just about everywhere anyway. So I was like: "Cool, I guess I'm done then." And so I quit and got a job and pussy and drugs and a dirt bike and a guitar and amp.

Be cool, stay in school.

If I wanted to I could do that but why wouldn't you just skip a grade?

Stop drinking soda/tea/alcohol/coffee. I'm not kidding. Back when I was in school, I had similar problems. Once I gave up on the soda, my school world literally changed.

No, precisely the opposite of this.

This will help short-term, but there's a reason he needed to keep hitting it. Give the shit up and you'll have a really rough two weeks, and then you will find yourself perky and happy all day (provided you're going to bed at a reasonable hour).

The problem with caffeine is that it literally stays with you long after you've finished feeling the physical affects of it...it's keeping your brain wired and you don't get the restful sleep that you need. It creates a never-ending cycle of needing to re-invigorate.

I am with woodruff on this. No sugar in your diet. No fast food. No chips. eat fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, and as little meat as you can stand. Also get sleep at home -- get eight hours at night.

Nevertheless, even if you do all that, school can be mind-numbing boring and put any sentient person in a stupor. So, fight, fight for interest classes, fight for better teachers. If you are going to get kicked out, get kicked out for demanding something better rather than for letting the bastards get you down.

I didn't.

I took books into read, and listened to music on my walkman. Sometimes I sung in class.

My high school had one of the worst grade records in my country. I believe they were in the bottom 3. Excluding the year I 'graduated' That year they improved about 10 places.

Yes, and there is protein in vegis. You can get by eating less meat, but don't sweat it is you cannot get it out of your diet. Just increase the fresh fruits and vegis. No fruit juices though, eat the whole fruit.

Don't forget the sleep.

Don't forget to kick ass fighting for your dignity and education.

I drink loads of water, yes. But not ONLY water...I'm no longer a student. As a teacher, it's ok if I slee...er...never mind. <smile>

At home, I drink filtered tap water and at school, I drink bottled water (harder to spill it).

I drink some juice occasionally, and occasionally a soda or cup of tea. But predominantly water.

Milk Gatorade? That sounds really...disgusting. <grin>

As an aside, be careful about the Gatorade...the newer types can also have a buttload of sugar in them. And yes to mpjh's point about fruit>>>>fruit juices.

For me, I never fell asleep in class until junior year high school, and then it just hit me. Before that during even the most boring classes I could stay awake, then I couldn't stay awake even when I wanted to. I would get about 7-8 hours of sleep a night, and I still fell asleep. Caffeine didn't help and still doesn't, and I don't know why. The only thing that does is 5-hour energy and other energy drinks, but I don't have the money to buy those and they're shitty for you on a daily basis. So I just had to try to fight through it. The annoying thing is, even if I'm taking notes and really trying to pay attention, it doesn't help. I doze off on numerous occasions with a pen in my hand trying to take notes on what's going on. Even now in college I have problems, even when I go to bed at 11:00-11:30 and wake up at 7:47 (yes I know that's weird but I get up 13 minutes before my alarm every day) I still fall asleep sometimes. The only times I don't is when the chair is not very comfortable, or I'm super interested in whats going on. It was the worst in calc, but now I know that if I just fool around on my calculator for awhile it will keep me awake. So I guess my only advice is to try to fight through it and find a way to keep yourself entertained in class. My diet isn't too bad, I have a small bowl of fruit 2 times a day, 2 glasses of milk, maybe 1-2 medium sized scoops of pasta, a scoop of vegetables and maybe a sandwich or just random meats, so I can't blame it on that too much. I drink less than a can of pop a day on average, even in high school.
