Most specifically the countries with the stripes through them. What is their significance?

according to the legend
"Striped regions belong to 2 area's"
This means this single area belongs to two different bonusarea's as in the most efficient way to break to bonussess is to kill that territory. well thats the general idea.

call it a learning curve. The map tells you a lot of things, but sometimes its a bit more tucked out of regular sight. Take the time to study the map in different ways, and you ill learn a lot of info thats not all apparent to everybody. It does make one a beter player.

downloading BOB can help. The map inspect feature is rather useful, also the feature which shows you every possible bonus combination and the regions needed to make said bonus, among other things. (not to mention a handful of other useful features, such as snapshot (basically taking an easily accessible screenshot for particularly fog games) Downloading it takes seconds, and it installs itself.
An invaluable tool for anyone who wants to play complex maps.
Btw, you seem very polite, and we like helping polite people

So if you have any more questions about Eurasia, fire away. The only stupid question is the one unasked.

These tools are used through grease monkey which is an extension for firefox:

Not sure how tech savvy you are but if you need more of an elaboration or explanation on how to install these or what we are talking about just ask.

. I downloaded this add on for IE9 and Firefox but uninstalled the add-ons.
Did not care for a toolbar that installs automatically. Plus what all these add-ons do change my homepage to some search engine I don't care for.
Though you're correct with this I have absolutely no tech savvy for BOB.
So I'll continue the old fashion way.
Thank you for your help and time with this matter.

I didn't have a toolbar installed when installing greasemonkey on my computer. There was probably a checkbox you missed somewhere that allows you to opt out of adding a toolbar.
