I doubt it, they've blatantly plagiarised all the names, either they haven't got copyright to do it or the Tolkien estate have given them some special dispensation.hecter wrote:It was made from scratch, I think. I think it's legal as long as you don't start with an existing map of it.
I don't think the names matter, all you need to do is draw the map yourselfskulkrinbait wrote:I doubt it, they've blatantly plagiarised all the names, either they haven't got copyright to do it or the Tolkien estate have given them some special dispensation.hecter wrote:It was made from scratch, I think. I'm not a copyright lawyer but this sight does make money...static_ice wrote:no you can't sell them but you can use them, no one is selling these maps they're just using them, its perfectly legal
but its not directly off of the maps.Kugelblitz22 wrote:I'm not a copyright lawyer but this sight does make money...static_ice wrote:no you can't sell them but you can use them, no one is selling these maps they're just using them, its perfectly legal

Yer, its not similar to the maps in the books at all. Some of the place names are debatable, and the geography isn perfect. Its not an exact replica of the actual Middle earth map that Tolkiens son drew.static_ice wrote:but its not directly off of the maps.Kugelblitz22 wrote:I'm not a copyright lawyer but this sight does make money...static_ice wrote:no you can't sell them but you can use them, no one is selling these maps they're just using them, its perfectly legal
