site-wide competative clan rankings

I know this sounds silly, but, Is there any way to do this?
And what are the unofficial standings now?

your clan is tops... easily... all the rest of the clans dream of being what your clan is..-0Juan_Bottom wrote:I know this sounds silly, but, Is there any way to do this?

That's exactly what I was thinking. Seems to be the fairest method. If you want your clan to be ranked, simply apply as competative.Timminz wrote:I liked the idea of treating clans as players, and giving them each 1000 points to begin with, and using the same scoring method (loser's score/winner's score*20).
This is what I was also wondering about. Infighting.... Some things will need special consideration though, like clan tourneys.Timminz wrote:everyone wanted to use a system that benefited their clan more than others .
I never thought of this. I think it's irrelevent anyway, winning is winning.Timminz wrote:This might not be a perfect method, as it wouldn't account for the difference between winning a challenge by 1 game, and winning by 20 games, but then again, you get the same score in a game whether you win it in round 2 or round 200, so maybe it could work.
Good point. I like it. We would need a new game type to go along with the public/private/tournament labels. a "Clan" label, would make it easier to keep track of which games are part of an official challenge, and which ones are just "friendlies". Also, this would make things such as the current Clan olympics, possible to factor into the clan rankings.max is gr8 wrote:Unless each game counts as a game and the Clan put its and its members points on the line. In a similar way to 20 games in a tournament there would be 20 games in a challenge
Juan_Bottom wrote:Well, this is it. If there is no support for this, I think I'll just start keeping track myself.

No i did and its based on players cores who are in the clan. Timiniz's idead is sound and im 100% agreement with him. My clan would partake in such an idea. We could form a league. Those who want in the league all good and those that want dont joinBruceswar wrote:Juan_Bottom wrote:Well, this is it. If there is no support for this, I think I'll just start keeping track myself.

Check the callouts section. I am pretty sure it is blitz that has a clan ranking thread...

I think the scores would have to start out at 1000 per clan. Otherwise we'll get into a long discussion, that leads nowhere, about how we should determine starting scores. Of course, this means that the scoreboard won't be truly representative of the actual ability within each clan at first, but, as with individual scores, after a while it should give us a pretty good idea.Pedronicus wrote:The scores wouldn't have to be 20 points from the start, because the players who belong to 'X' clan with loads of points are obviously that high in points because they know what they are doing.
I'm the leader of the Godless Heathens(Athiests/Agnostics clan). But they're non-competative. The only competative clan 'm in is DBC.t-o-m wrote:What clan is his?owenshooter wrote:your clan is tops... easily... all the rest of the clans dream of being what your clan is..-0Juan_Bottom wrote:I know this sounds silly, but, Is there any way to do this?

Ditto, I'm learning that too.Pedronicus wrote:After getting involved with CWC for the CC olympics tourney, I discovered that certain clan members were sadly lacking in stratagey.
I'm definitly thinking that there would be more clan-pride. I'd bet memberships in clans would rise too.Pedronicus wrote:If there was some sort of clan leaderboard, I'd deffo get involved with more clan battles.
Agreed 100%Timminz wrote:I think the scores would have to start out at 1000 per clan. Otherwise we'll get into a long discussion, that leads nowhere, about how we should determine starting scores. not a bad idea...Chariot of Fire wrote:Beat a clan and you assume its place on the ladder and the beaten clan drops down one place.
I hate this. Some clans aren't going to be in the mood to be humiliated constantly..... I forsee a lot of forfieting, with little "punishment..."Chariot of Fire wrote:Make a rule that you can only re-challenge a clan after you've played all the other clans (to prevent everyone going for the top spot all the time). The higher-ranked clan has the prerogative to decline a challenge from a lesser-ranked clan UNLESS the lower-ranked has already played every clan below it OR the higher-ranked has not faced a challenge within one calendar month.
if this is what you are thinking, you are just in the wrong clans or clan, period. i am very proud of the BpB and all the individuals that are members for their own unique reasons. some real life friends, some CC friends, some people that are foes some of us rarely/if ever defeated, etc... a rag tag bunch of uniquely connected individuals that all have a bit of "bandit" in them. if you aren't proud of your clan or clans, you are involved with the wrong people. and as far as membership goes. not everyone is interested in being in a clan, and not everyone has the right temperment for being in a clan. we are an invite only group and don't really have a cap, but when someone is obviously a bandit, we offer them membership without any hesitation, restrictions or rules... maybe you should work harder on your clan from within, then looking for an artificial clan ranking to raise your clans pride.-0Juan_Bottom wrote:I'm definitly thinking that there would be more clan-pride. I wasn't specifically talking about my clan. Or any clan...owenshooter wrote:if this is what you are thinking, you are just in the wrong clans or clan, period.
I am proud as hell of my clans too!!!!!!! Please no one missunderstand me.owenshooter wrote:i am very proud of the BpB and all the individuals that are members for their own unique reasons.
At the same time, certianly non-clan members are going to be looking at the boards. It may very well get more people to consider joining, or forming a clan.owenshooter wrote:not everyone is interested in being in a clan, and not everyone has the right temperment for being in a clan.
Artifical why? Its abit of fun, stop being so god damn serious!!owenshooter wrote:if this is what you are thinking, you are just in the wrong clans or clan, period. i am very proud of the BpB and all the individuals that are members for their own unique reasons. some real life friends, some CC friends, some people that are foes some of us rarely/if ever defeated, etc... a rag tag bunch of uniquely connected individuals that all have a bit of "bandit" in them. if you aren't proud of your clan or clans, you are involved with the wrong people. and as far as membership goes. not everyone is interested in being in a clan, and not everyone has the right temperment for being in a clan. we are an invite only group and don't really have a cap, but when someone is obviously a bandit, we offer them membership without any hesitation, restrictions or rules... maybe you should work harder on your clan from within, then looking for an artificial clan ranking to raise your clans pride.-0Juan_Bottom wrote:I'm definitly thinking that there would be more clan-pride.
