The Avengers, a super hero team consisting of Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Wonder Woman, Hawk Eye and many many more. If you followed the Avenger Comics(Very Doubtful) you would of heard of an organization called S.H.I.E.L.D., they are the people behind the super hero team making them legit, if you watch the whole Iron Man Movie you will notice a random agent always trying to arrange a meeting with Tony Stark, but never really gets involved in the movie, later on in the movie(the end) when he is handing Stark his que cards he announces that they had shortend the name of his agency to S.H.I.E.L.D. which to the normal viewer would just be a punch line, but to the comic book enthusiast it was a pee your pants moment. After the credits Samuel L. Jackson is in Tony's home waiting for him, when Stark asks who he is he says he's Nick Fury the Operation manager for S.H.E.I.L.D., he claims he must talk to Tony about the Avenger Project!!! Now it gets crazy, At the end of the new Hulk Movie Stark walks in on the general and tells him he has to talk to him about the Avenger project!!! After visiting the IMDB i found out the that name "The Avengers" is a movie in progress but they are unable to release any information on it.

Tell Me what you think of Marvel making an Avenger Movie, Do you think it will work, or will it be a pointless series

If done right that could make a good movie. But most likely will turn into "Why the f*ck did they decide this stupid movie"

At first thats what i thought, il have to wait for the IMDB to pop somthing up on the making, or for the first trailer, but i believe it could be good, the last super hero group (Fantastic Four) was a disaster, watched it once then threw it in my movie shelf like 2 years ago

HEY, i was looking all over the internet for this, i think the movie could have some serious potential, i love robert downing jr. and i can't wait to see him in anouther movie

I dunno, I wouldn't have high hopes for it. The recent string of super hero movies have all been blockbuster piles of crap. And I would hate to see what happens if a bunch of main charactors all have to share the screen. It's too much to follow.
But that was a great peice of investigation bro. kudos.

lol, thnx, yah i could see some actor clashing expecially when they decide who gets more screen time, and since Toby Mcguire as spiderman would also be in this movie(if they stay true to the comics) and Robert downie Jr and that guy that did the new hulk, then they would have to find a captain america, i believe Batman had a part in Avengers in which case they would have to throw in Christian Bale.

nah, Bats is DC. Avengers are Marvel.

Giant Man/ Ant man, Woverine, Daredevil, Thor, Storm, Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, Vision, Spidey, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Hercules, and a ton of others have all been in the Avengers at one time or another.

I think the original 60's lineup was Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Antman, Captain America.

For a movie, I think there'd be an even suck/shine chance.

And there was me thinking this was a thread about Steed, Purdey and Gambit.................oh well

They couldn't afford that line up. Could they?
At any rate, what I was talking about specifically was how the dude who played Cyclops in the X-Men trilogy is(was?) holding out for money and screen time... killing the fourth installment. Plus, as a first film they have to get you acquinted with the charactors, before they plung you into the action. I just don't see it working... too much going on on one side.
How much screen time would that give you to also get acquanted with a villan?

If dare devil is in the Avengers (which i know he is) will they bring Ben Afleck back into action movies???

Yes which is why it would have to be better directed, better written, and better acted than Iron Man or the Dark Knight just to stand a chance. However if they do somehow manage that than it could be really good.

Did anyone see the animated Justice League "New Frontier" movie? I saw it the other day and I realyy enjoyed it. there's talk of a live JLA mocie too, but I can't see it working really.

I don't mean to be rude or diss your detective work but this was announced over a year ago. There's also a Justice League film in the offing, but they're nowhere near to actually making as they are the Avengers one.

It's always nice to have an effect on people.
I think I first read about it in Total Film, could have just been rumours then but when Iron Man came out it seemed like they were nailing their flag to the mast, and then Hulk as well. There's rumour now that Hulk might be the anti-hero/villain. The JL movie I've only read rumours here and there but they're getting more frequent.
I wouldn't hold out much hope for them using a classic line up for the Avengers, there must have been over a dozen different members over the years so finances will probably make it a compromise of members unless some stars are willing to take pay cuts.

An Avengers movie would be amazing... as long as they do a Captain America movie first. None of the other members are important enough to rate it, but they do need a Hulk, an Iron Man, and a Captain America movie.

Most heroes in the Marvel universe have been Avengers at one time or another.

You could go from incredibly-powered (Thor, Hulk, Iron Man) to the almost superpower-free (Hawkeye, Daredevil, Black Widow). In the second lineup, you've got your love triangle right there.

Yeah... I was thinking more about the other founding members. Of course, by that rule, Captain America isn't in it.

I suppose I'm thinking in terms of plausible characters. I don't see Thor in it, frankly... Captain America, Hulk, Ant-Man, Wasp, and Iron Man all have pseudo-scientific backstories... straight up mysticism would be hard to reconcile. So I'm guessing Captain America will be in the starting lineup instead of Thor, and possibly Spiderman instead of one of the two more minor heroes. (Although that'd be a bummer, since they're both good characters...)

BTW, I have to admit to a snicker at whoever said Batman would be in an Avengers movie...
