Re: THEY WERE WHITE & THEY WERE SLAVES

Egypt definitely did have black pharaohs at one time -- the famous 25th, or Nubian, Dynasty. http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2008/02/black-pharaohs/robert-draper-text/1 Still, the 25th Dynasty was notable precisely because it was un usual. It was not the norm. consider is it really logical that t...

Re: THEY WERE WHITE & THEY WERE SLAVES

I live in California, and have alot of Mexican friends. Some have been here 3 generations, some were born here, some born in Mexico. Virtually all of them, refer to themselves as 'Brown'. They might also use latino, but I find many of my mexican friends don't use latino because they think of themse...

Re:

I would love to look again. I want to take the kids too but it seems a little more dangerous now and I can't afford the flights. Your link to the National Geographic drawing is conclusive for sure. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/egypt-black-pharaohs-article-1.343865 That is exactly how the p...

Re: Is misogynistic sexism really a problem in the US?

I don't believe it is. What are the biggest issues women face and I can give you a bigger one that men face Then you are blind, deaf and showing no real awareness of what happens I am sure you faced more obstacles than either Jennifer Gates or Ivanka Trump, but just as an example.. I and several ot...

Re:

That is amazing. Weird how they were drawn, painted and sculpted to look like many of the modern Egyptians. Not white yet definately different from most other African people. You're the expert though. Look again... and also, consider is it really logical that the people who lived there then would r...

Re: THEY WERE WHITE & THEY WERE SLAVES

The origin of the English word "slave" is based on enslavement of Slavic people, who are white. Slavery is not limited to ONE culture, one ethnicity, or one location. For most of human history, slaves were part of that society. Native Americans, Asians and blacks all had slaves. Despite m...

Re: Is there any need/desire for a general newsletter?

There are more than a couple of writers. I think the issue is if there is any real news to give. Interviews were not as interesting as they could be because giving out any kind of real information on an internet site is risky. Folks tend to get to "know" forum posters perhaps better than o...

Re: Not so random maps

I think it would not hurt to have the ability to exclude certain maps. i am not necessarily in favor of a "self-selected" exclusion, in part because it would get unwieldy. instead, have a "random baseic" that would offer only the basic maps, 3 for every territory in standard play...

Re: Potter minus Potter and where to find Who?

Anybody else see the new Harry Potter minus Hogwarts? I really liked it. Eddie Redmayne was very much doing a Matt Smith Dr Who. I liked it better than most of the Harry Potter's though. Loved it. Looking forward to more! have a neighbor boy, slightly autistic, who missed my son's birthday party (h...

Re: Donald Trump really risks angering China

Did you know that the EU spent more on foreign aid in a year than China has in the last 60 years combined? It's an interesting little stat, open to a variety of interpretations, but all the more fascinating for it. The US and EU have a lot of soft power that Beijing is rightly wary of. China stress...

Re: Australia's Migrants

The bigger issue (for some Aussies) is they come here and expect us to accept their culture rather than assimilate into ours. This... Nobody likes this kind of migrants. Not liking migrants because of their ethnic background or their religion has always been an issue for some people. That doesn't m...

Daft tactics really. Taiwan has plenty in common with China, and would like closer ties, but as with Hong Kong, they've had a taste of freedom and don't want to let it go.

Hell, if an anonymous source from the dailybeast says he only occasionally saves saves lives and rescues people, that's pretty damning. name three people he's rescued Can't, can you? Re: Donald Trump really risks angering China

Don’t worry about China going to war over a phone call. They understand Trump, in part because they read my blog too. And look at the brilliance of China’s diplomatic response. Their Foreign Minister labelled the phone call, "a shenanigan by the Taiwan side.“ That is exquisite diplomatic frami...

Re: Donald Trump really risks angering China

If Trump continues with stupid provocations like this, hopefully Beijing will call his bluff and loose every single one of those missiles they've currently got pointed at Taipei. 'Ah love the smell of what used to be Taipei in the morning!' Correct me if I'm wrong, but when I dared to pass the head...
