Tournaments Database

Tournaments are a major part of the Conquer Club experience and they add a new dimension of competition above individual games and the scoreboard. For those of you who aren't familiar, tournaments are organized by members by you, and the whole system has been built up and managed by an incredible group of volunteers - the Tournament Directors. In fact, there are 370 ongoing tournaments right now!

Today is the official launch of a new database to power our tournaments. You can now visit the Tournament pages (look up, next to the Scoreboard) and quickly find tournaments to join. You can also view the Hall of Fame and search our tournament records. Much of this new feature is actually hidden in the tools used by Tournament Directors. They have better access to information now and a lot of the repetitive work has been automated including issuing medals and maintaining the Hall of Fame. Hopefully there will be a surge of interest in tournaments and this will free them up to handle it!

This one has been in the oven for a long time and cleaning up old tournament data to work in the new database was a huge task. The Tournament Directors were champions and their determination and patience has brought us here.

Wow congrats,this is useful,i just learned that katy has won a tournament without playing ANY game... It seems that the winner was katya but the organized put it by mistake(i supose ) katy

I agree, instead of having it in the forum, you could have it so you can create a tournament and input settings, number of players etc into a form and people can join it with a single click.

I agree, instead of having it in the forum, you could have it so you can create a tournament and input settings, number of players etc into a form and people can join it with a single click.

My guess is that things like this will be much easier to implement some time in the future since this step has been done. We can't go around supplying everything at once: the database already took over a month to populate and clean.

All the errors will get fixed eventually.......we all need a short break from constant data entry. There is a description of how to report errors in the tournament announcement linked to in lack's first post.

If I use the search, I can't seem to go to additional pages.

ie: If I do a search for Barterer2002's completed tournaments there are results spread across multiple pages (just like in game finder). But when I hit the arrow to go to page 2, nothing appears.
