Hola amigos,
I suppose the recent Team CC reorganization wasn't enough, as now we've shuffled the Administrators as well. Please read on...
Optimus Prime retiresAfter serving as Volunteer Coordinator and Operations Manager for over 13 months, Optimus Prime is hanging up his admin towel. Prime has made a big impact on Conquer Club during this time, recruiting wonderful volunteers to lead the community, organizing events like Whac-A-Mod II and the 4th Anniversary celebration, facilitating the launch of the Entertainment department, influencing major updates and reorganizing Team CC to help it grow into the future.
Why retirement? Although there have been rumors of Optimus Prime taking advantage of an incredible career opportunity, we all know that he is leaving because owenshooter has come off his 6 month forum ban. There simply isn't enough room in this forum for the two of them!
Thanks Prime - and enjoy CC life as a civilian
Instead of simply appointing another Operations Manager, I've decided to take this opportunity to change the admin roles...
AndyDufresne becomes Community ManagerAfter serving as Chief Moderator for over 11 months AndyDufresne has been promoted to the role of Community Manager. The Community Manager covers responsibilities of both Chief Moderator & Operations Manager. The CM's primary task is to be in continuous contact with all team leaders and provide them with support. The CM will also have ultimate say on all community matters, work on special projects, and will keep a strong presence in the Team Forums and in the public forums. This is actually Andy's second tour of duty as Community Manager (some of you may remember him being our "Zoo Keeper" in 2006/2007) and there is no doubt in my mind that he will do an incredible job.
Congrats Andy - and good luck!
Coming soon... a Web DeveloperUp till now I have done 99% of the programming on Conquer Club, and although I love it, it is hard to pull myself away from general administration tasks and I don't see that changing much in the future. We really need to pick up the pace of updates! I've conceded that the only realistic solution is having a dedicated Web Developer admin who becomes familiar with the mechanics behind Conquer Club. We have started the recruitment process and this will probably be someone from outside the community. Stay tuned...
Perks for volunteersAs a well-deserved reward, individual team leaders will now receive 1 year of Premium Membership at the end of each month to give out as they please (or use it themselves!). For all of Team CC we will begin holding quarterly Volunteer Appreciation Days. Friday April 30 is the first one and it will involve 3 events and prizes for the winners
