safariguy5 Freestyle Executive Monthly Challenges!!! by DoomYoshi show
Hey everyone! Do you want to participate in the next-cool thing on Conquer Club? Tournaments used to be run without admin support, then tournaments became an official thing. Clans started as a group of team-game oriented players, now it's official. Adjacent Attacks was played by a group of homebrewers and now it's an official setting. We are starting a Monthly Challenge, based loosely on Pogo's badge system. The thread for this can be found here. However, you can also join the discussion on how the table should be updated here

The Scum Insider Newbie Help Want to get into the Mafia scene, but don't know how to play or even what it is? Consult these threads: Mafia Information , Mafia and You , and Rules and Terms of Mafia . Too much work? Too lazy to read through everything? No worries, you can always jump right into a game and ask for other players or the game runner to help guide you. What is "Mafia"? Mafia, for those of you that don't know, is a game that generally takes place in a town, where the townspeople have to determine who the mafia (or "scum") is and lynch them via a majority vote during the day and the mafia try to kill everyone at night and bluff their way out of getting killed by the town.Mafia News It appears that we seem to have a shortage in number of available players. Although we have a couple games taking signups, interest seems to be rather minimal. Whether this is due to the busy school schedule or a more worrisome trend remains to be seen.Mafia Callouts Calling all players interested! Some mafia games need some filling: Sign-ups: Seeking Replacements: Consult the Replacement Thread to see what games are in need of reserves/replacements. Now get out there and investigate Mafia for yourself: viewforum.php?f=213 Advanced Roles and Strategy by safariguy5 Stereotypical behaviors are discussed here. The witty name comes from mafiascum. All credit where it is due.No True Scotsman What is It? No True Scotsman refers to the stereotypical behavior that is expected of a role or player. If the player deviates from that expected behavior, it could be construed as a tip that the player is being deceitful.Example Alice is a doctor who accuses another player of being scum on Day 1. When forced to claim on Day 2, her doctor claim is met with skepticism as "No true doctor" would call attention to themselves early on and risk a nightkill. How to Use this Strategy It is very difficult to accurately apply this strategy as some players will deliberately play against expectations in order to meta the other faction. In the end, a certain amount of experience and close examination of the individual situations will be a better gauge of whether or not someone's odd playstyle is indicative of something suspicious.

We have another exciting update on CC3, qwert gets involved on what DD's think about their groups for CL5, and Swifte trials what will hopefully be a regular article for us, on the latest movers and shakers in the clan world.
We are also eager to present some in-depth analysis from BG's coaches poll next issue!
Leehar Clan Executive CC3 Update by Swifte show
We've passed the midway point in each of the ongoing CC3 matchups, and Semi-Final 1 vs KORT 11 - 24 TOFU Two short weeks ago, TOFU held an 11-9 lead over KORT through 20 finished games, and it was unclear who would be the first to push out to a significant advantage. With 15 more games now in the books, TOFU has managed to do just that. Now leading 24-12, TOFU compiled a 12-6 record in batch 1 and 10-5 record in batch 2. Top performers for TOFU continue to be Master Fenrir (9-1), Denise (8-1), and Iron Maid (6-0). loes has the top performance for KORT so far, a perfect (4-0). Based on chatter in the thread, it sounds like KORT is down but not out, as they appear to have the advantage in several unfinished games... this one could yet come down to the wire! The next two weeks should be exciting for this battle between these two elite clans, so don't miss out . Semi-Final 2 vs. AOC 20 - 25 AFOS AFOS led 14-12 against AOC when last we checked in. Another third of the war has finished, and AFOS have pushed their lead to 5 games in finished games now, with 15 games and a tie-breaker yet to come, AFOS have to be sitting happy with the possibility of needing as little as 6 more games for the win and a few games already appearing to be heavily leaning their way. As close as this battle has been, it's no surprise that there are not many spotless records, but some top performs have been Hook2 with a match high 6 wins, vintender with a 5-2 record, and watsy at a perfect 4-0. Would appear AOC have their work cut out for them to pull back in to this one, we'll see if they can generate enough chaos to do the trick. We should get a pretty good sense of how this one will finish in the coming weeks, so be sure to stay tuned .

For this issue, we ask the 6 DD(Division Directors) what are they think about their respective divisions.QG1-keefie wrote: Group 1 on paper looks like being a shoe in for TOFU to reach the Premier League with The Pig Renters joining them. However with the matches only being 8 games, surprises can and do happen, for instance LoW have just beaten TOFU in a 12 game match in the Random League. I still expect TOFU to prevail and win the group, but I predict the surprise in this group will come from the battle to finish 2nd and I expect that team to be The Grim Reapers. They are a small tight knit clan who have been getting some good results lately and they respond well on the big stage. I can't see Death by Comity or Clan Fiso being anything other than the 5th and 6th placed teams, leaving The Pig Renters and The Legion to grab 3rd and 4th and qualify for the Second League.'
QG2-jetsetwilly wrote: Qualifying Group 2 has an obvious favourite in Empire who have made an interesting (Brave ?/Foolish ?) opening gambit in selecting all random maps against The Last Warriors. Myth won the 2nd tier last season and must surely fancy their chances at making the top Division in phase 2 this season but which clan could put a cat amongst the pigeons..... ? Those Magnificent Bastards will surely be out to make a statement, finishing bottom of the pile in CL4 should provide the ultimate motivation to pull off a surprise or two.
QG3-mcshanester29 wrote: We have a really good group in CG3, according the polls AFOS is favored to advance to the premier league with a close second going to either FOED and ID. I would keep an eye on the underdogs though - Dyn, UM8, and SOH, they are capable of making it a tough road for whoever advances. My picks to advance - AFOS and FOED
QG4-merch313 wrote: Qualifying Group 4 certainly is interesting to me here. You have AOC who are the clear cut favorites. This QG also has The Fallen trying to prove themselves (which I do believe they have done that) to the top clan world. Then you have to 2 veteran clans in LOW and VDLL trying to make a statement and prove they still have what it takes. The last 2 clans are RA (who have a solid lineup) and AOK who I believe are fairly new to the clan world and do not know much about. The POLL in the QG4 shows AOC and The Fallen as the 2 moving on. Personally this QG4 is up for taking since most of these clans have something to prove to clan world. Whether that is staying on top or simply proving they are a top clan and shouldn't be taken lightly.
QG5-benga wrote: Looking at experience that IA has they should win this comfortably without any stress, on the other hand fight for no.2 should be tight as freaks pants, OTP, MM, MD should be close, TFFS can always make surprise, but that will depend if they gain the right momentum, AQOH is here to learn.
If this was pissing contest, OTP will hold on to the last place with their average size of penis is just too small to be mentioned at all, only thing that saves them are their witty tongues.
So based on deep analsis this group should be fun and we should have 2 clans advancing
QG6-angola wrote: Qualifying Group 6 The defending Clan League Association champions reside in Qualifying Group 6, which does not bode well for their competition. Knights of the Round Table (KORT) won CLA4, defeating Agents of Chaos 22-19 in the final. KORT is back for a chance at defending its title and is the clear cut favorite to win Group 6. KORT is also in the semifinals of Conquer Cup 3, which could provide a bit of a distraction in the early going, but the depth of the Cows should easily carry them through the group. One Step Ahead and The Headless Horsemen figure to battle it out for second place and get that coveted spot in the Premier League. OSA has quickly put itself on the cusp of the elite level clans, but needs a signature victory or two. Advancing to the Premier League and hanging with the big boys would certainly accomplish that. The Headless Horsemen don't have quite the same pedigree as OSA, but the quality of their play is definitely on par. The winner of HH vs. OSA will obviously have the upperhand in moving onto the Premier League. The New Crusade, Devil's Brigade and Les Hussards du Dragon are likely fighting for third, though all are capable of pulling an upset, especially given the small sample size of the eight-game format.
Well I almost forget, new achievement from Opticians and the MIGHTY FREAK(he-he Their Real Name is Otpisani, but I like to make jokes about freak ), they managed to score the first win in the entire CL5 competition, please small applause. Here at the Platoon Report, we knock our heads together frequently to try to keep coming up with ways to get you all the news Clan enthusiasts might be interested in. Recently we got a great suggestion from reader Epitaph1 - why doesn't the Dispatch put together a list of the players joining, leaving, and moving around the clan scene! We thought that was a task worth undertaking, and so I am pleased to announce a new monthly feature - Clan Movers and Shakers! To get things started, I've compiled a report of players and their new clans, based on announcements in the recruitment threads of the various clans. If your name doesn't appear, it is most likely because it wasn't announced in the public threads. But that's just to get us kicked off - I've documented every player in every clan as of the end of February, so that come the end of March I can do a simple comparison to the updated rosters and compile an even more precise report each month. Hello again my friends, and welcome to your favorite part of the Newsletter, "War Games", where you can find information about CC Tournaments!
The Chatters have come up with an event, which, while not exactly a tournament, is somewhat tournamentish, so you can read about it below. DaveH has his usual installment of Tournament Tips, as well as another TPA update. In addition, I've decided to re-run generalhead's Showcase of Tournament Directors, since these are people you should know well.
Dukasaur Tournament Executive Find the Secret Room by (The Chatters) show
The Live Chat Team brings you a scavenger hunt with a twist (of lime). Just as with any scavenger hunt we’re going to give you clues and you have to go and find. In this case you’ll have to find the room(s). Each room is a secret known only to a select few but we’ll give you the opportunity to learn those secrets while you attempt to gain more points than anyone else and earn yourself a nice shiny General Achievement medal (well shiny assuming you’ve cleaned your screen recently). We’re not going to tell you just yet exactly when it will start… All we’ll say is that it will be sometime during March . There is a rumour going around that it will be run at least twice so everyone can have a chance but who knows how these rumours get started. Be on the lookout for further clues that will reveal the date, and time as well as the instructions for the hunt. If I were you though I wouldn’t be sharing too many secrets… You can never tell where they will end up!

I was spending quite a lot of time on the site at that time, so it made sense to me. Night Strike is in my clan, so I volunteered to him. Took quite a long time before I was accepted, and given a role. How long have you been a volunteer? - About 16 months now, I believe. Was volunteering as a TD what you expected and did you expect to be doing it this long? - Yes, I'd say it was what I expected. I started out working with new tournaments, inputting them into the database, and awarding privileges when they filled. I have since become the mod responsible for handing out medals once tournaments have been completed. Steelhorse had been handling that, so I didn't expect to move into that role, but I enjoy it. As far as how long I'd be doing this, I really didn't have any expectations, so I'm just happy I'm still able to help out. I'm happy to say that I've exceeded all his expectations. How did you come to choose you avatar? - I rotate between Detroit and Michigan sports. Currently, I'm going with the helmet worn by the Michigan Wolverines. I've also used the Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Lions, and Detroit Tigers. I'm from Detroit, and love Detroit sports. Yes, of course. How did you come to Volunteer as a TD? Well, before they had open callouts, I had told Night Strike (the Tournament Department Head) that I was willing to be a Tournament Director. Then, they had callouts for a Clan Director. It seemed to me that the TDs weren't needing anyone, so I went ahead and applied for that, because I wanted to be able to help out. At the same time, I was approached to see if I wanted to be a Suggestions mod, because I was active there. What ended up happening was a few PMs sent between myself, Night Strike, Bruceswar (head CD), clapper011 (head of suggs at the time), and Andydufresne. We came to the decision to have me help with tournaments because that's what I liked the most. How long have you been a volunteer? It will be a year in a few weeks. Was volunteering as a TD what you expected and did you expect to be doing it this long? It wasn't exactly what I expected. For the tournament directors, there is a lot of behind the scenes work; putting things into the database, checking tournaments, fielding questions and complaints, issuing medals, etc. I thought that we would get a chance to be involved in more site changes. However, there weren't many changes to get involved in. Hopefully that's changing in the future. Can you give me a favorite quote about volunteering as a TD? Hmmm. Nothing comes to mind right now. How did you come to choose you avatar? Well, at the time I chose it, I was really into trying to find a family crest for myself. I went searching on the internet and found this. Can you tell us something about yourself that we don't know? I have a congenital heart defect. Thank you for your time. Tournament Tips by DaveH show: League Tournaments - part 2
In this article I will continue with the steps I am using to continue the 2012 NFL season tournament I picked up from flexmaster33. The first thing I had to do was to update two weeks of results. Using Game Finder and selecting the tournament and then pressing the "Tour Stats" button, I selected the Results page which looks like: and copied all the results and pasted into Excel. I sorted by the tournament number and then made it into a Lookup table by selecting the whole table, going to Insert/Name Define and called it "Results". This table links game numbers to Winning Round and Players. I next needed to find all the games for the "Week 10" results, which was by using Game Finder with "W10" in the Game Label box under the tournament name. The easiest way of doing this is to paste the largest game number at the top of a column and copy the formula "=CelNoAbove-1". This creates a game number one less than the largest game number - and so on down the column. This works very well if all the games had been created consecutively, but there are invariably gaps which means I have to change the formula substituting -2, -3 etc for the -1 in some places in order to replicate the order exactly. OK, so I have checked and have a list of Week 10 games numbers, so I copy the list and select the menu Edit/Paste Special/Values to translate the formulae into numerals (formulas are OK but one error at the top of the table can spread all the way down!). In the next columns I may want the winning player; losing player and Round number of the win. This is easy to do by selecting the VLookup function to lookup the relevant data from the table we just created. The function is VLOOKUP(Game Number Column, Results, 4, FALSE) for getting the data from column 2 of the Results table (Winning Player); VLOOKUP(Game Number Column, Results, 5, FALSE) for Losing Player; VLOOKUP(Game Number Column, Results, 3, FALSE) for Round Number. In the next column I may want the Score attributed to winning in that particular round. This is obtained using another Vlookup function looking up the Score from a table based on the winning round. The scores that were used in this tournament were; With a 50 round limit, in Excel I needed to have a table of Round Number (from 1 to 50); Winning Points and Losing Points which I called Score and, for the special game field goal points a table called ScoreS with Round Number (1 to 50) and Winning Points. To get these points into the next column of my table I used the function VLOOKUP(WINNING ROUND CELL, Score, 2, FALSE) and VLOOKUP(WINNING ROUND CELL, Score, 3, FALSE) for the winning and losing points respectively. I also had to paste in the VLOOKUP(WINNING ROUND CELL, ScoreS, 2, FALSE) formula in those places where the special maps were used. To get the Team Names into the next column of my table, I had to create a Vlookup table of the Players Names (in alphabetical order and called "Players") next to the team name they represented, so the two functions VLOOKUP(WINNING PLAYER CELL, Teams, 2, FALSE) and VLOOKUP(LOSING PLAYER CELL, Teams, 2, FALSE) put the team names of winners and losers into the next columns respectively. My completed table now had: Game Number; Winning Player Name; Losing Player Name; Round Number; Winning Team Points; Losing Team Points; Winning Team; Losing Team, which gives me all the data I need to update the results for Week 10. Having created the various lookup tables, it was straight forward to do the same for the next week's data. To simplify the process of extracting the data from the tables into a master scoresheet I created a Visual Basic Routine, which I will describe in the next article. (These "tips" started off as ones that I used to make it a bit easier in managing my own tournaments. Now, I am looking at other types of tournaments and scoring systems by all you innovative TO's out there. So, if you have a unique scoring system that you would like me to have a go at automating, please let me know and I'll be pleased to try and assist. Any queries on the above I'll be glad to respond to of course. Please note that I use Excel 2003, so there may be variation in the menu instructions if you have other versions of Excel)

That is the Drafting room , Main foundry , Beta maps and the Atlas . Now the 12 maps are easy to find, if you know the map. So if no one can find all 12, I will award the medal to the one[s] who find the most. No posting names in the forum. Send me koontz1973 the answers via PM. Happy hunting. Remember, 3 maps are in each of the 4 foundry forums.
