safariguy5 Freestyle Executive SoC Update by TheSaxlad show
Hello Folks, I'm here to give you an update on our good strategic friends at the SoC! First Off, I want to take a look at a new thread that popped up as a sticky at the end of last month, Viceroy63 's Questions for SoC Advisors. As some of you may have spotted this thread is a recycle from an old SoC thread called "Coming Soon to an SoC near You!" Now it's "Questions for SoC Advisers." Although Viceroy states that "I can't guarantee that the any Adviser will respond" the thread is already drawing both students and teachers alike to it, so if you have a question for the advisors this is a great opportunity to ask that question! And now for a little recruitment, so listen up!We're looking for a hardy, inquisitive type to make monthly reports in the Conquer Club newsletter. Our reporter should either be a current student or a grad. Skills required: good writing skills a finger to the pulse of the SoC Training Academy and most importantly, a brother in the ribs catering business! Barring that, a sense of humor wouldn't hurt (but seriously, ribs and you're in). Note: This isn't a Team-level position, but it could be a stepping stone to bigger and better things!
If your interested in the position, please Pm me TheSaxlad or thehippo8 !! Finally we take a quick look at another thread by Viceroy63 "THE SOC MONTHLY REPORT" This thread includes a mission statement for the SoC as well as a short history, but like the thread suggests also includes a monthly report on all the training rooms and a monthly quote! definitely worth a look over, especially as we get monthly updates, which ill be following in more detail next time! So to finish up, ill give the last word to February's quote of the monthViceroy63 wrote: When in doubt; Attack first and ask questions later. =)

The Scum Insider Newbie Help Want to get into the Mafia scene, but don't know how to play or even what it is? Consult these threads: Mafia Information , Mafia and You , and Rules and Terms of Mafia . Too much work? Too lazy to read through everything? No worries, you can always jump right into a game and ask for other players or the game runner to help guide you.What is "Mafia"? Mafia, for those of you that don't know, is a game that generally takes place in a town, where the townspeople have to determine who the mafia (or "scum") is and lynch them via a majority vote during the day and the mafia try to kill everyone at night and bluff their way out of getting killed by the town.Mafia News Community Mafia is developing into a pretty tight game with no major power roles lost on either side. One has to wonder who will rule the paintball game.Mafia Callouts Calling all players interested! Some mafia games need some filling: Sign-ups: Seeking Replacements: Consult the Replacement Thread to see what games are in need of reserves/replacements. Now get out there and investigate Mafia for yourself: viewforum.php?f=213 Advanced Roles and Strategy by safariguy5 We are "going postal" in our role discussion this issue.The Mailman What is It? The Mailman, also known as the Courier, is a role who can send a message to any other player during the night phase. They send the message and the target to the mod, who then sends the message to the target. Depending on the mod, this role may or may not be affected by roleblocking, busdriving, etc.Example Bob wants to send Alice the message "Bob is the Mailman". Bob sends the message and Alice's name as the target to the mod. Alice then receives a PM from the mod that says "Bob is the Mailman".How to Play this Role The Mailman can be any alignment. While it can be used reasonably easily to confirm a role, a good player will most likely not send out messages until he/she is reasonably certain that the target is also on the same side. Sending out messages too early as a town Mailman can alert the mafia to your presence. They know not to direct kills or night actions towards you, giving them a higher chance of killing/blocking town power roles.
show: Interrogation of b00060
Disclaimer: You may be offended by anything you read here and a lot of this is based on my emotions for the day, but they are my opinions and the opinions of a person that has played over 30,000 games on this site and has seen more than anyone else save HighlanderAttack who I hold a lot of respect for. So try and remember that when you have played as much as me and caught as many cheaters as my, my views may be a little more jaded and blunt than what yours may be. Q. For how many days/weeks, months/years in a row do you not leave home to take some fresh air? Ha, I have the luxury of working in front of a computer almost 10 hours a day, so I get a lot of turns in when I have free time, which as you can tell by my completed games is a lot. So to answer your question, I get out everyday. Q. How many multis have you busted? I have busted so many it is not even funny. A lot of people think I bitch and moan in the cheating forum, but it is only because I have seen so much cheating it literally makes a lot of the games no fun at all. When you have played over 30,000 games, you see a crap load of multis and just straight up collusion, but I try and only report the ones that are blatantly obvious because I would much rather be playing than reporting. As you play more games, it gets exponentially larger, especially when you bust someone and they just keep coming at you with new accounts because you pissed them off for catching them. I would say I am the target of more than a few dozen of these players. But when I see it and it is obvious, I feel I owe it to the community to have them checked, because if I can get rid of a multi, then that means they can't victimize others. Q. Based on that number, how much money does CC owe you? I would say I get my moneys worth if you look at my games played : paid ratio. Sometimes it even sickens me how much I play. Q. Do you plan on relentlessly chasing the next medal level (Diamond or whatever its called)? If so for which medals? Unfortunately yes. I am a medal head and I am not looking forward to the terminator games I have to play. As anyone of rank knows, you join any terminator game with rank, you will immediately be targeted for your points alone as a lot of players would rather get a higher rank kill than actually win the game, so I am going to medal hunt for ALL diamonds, but am not looking forward to that part. Q. How has your interest in CC changed since leaving the clan world? I used to play a lot of 7-8 man games and a lot of team games. After I got all gold medals, I wanted to focus on my winning percentage that took a huge hit for playing all of the 7-8 man games that I had, so I started playing more 1v1 games since I left my clan. ( I started the Grim Reapers) and didn't like the direction or way a lot of our clan games were being played (ie. no communication) and I as a leader felt responsible, so I took a step back from the clan world. I am thinking about getting back into it and get a lot of solicitations from others probing my interest, so maybe one day I will get back into it. Q. Why did the multi cross the road? Because he was too cheap to pay for premium and support this site and would rather ruin the ranking system and enjoyable experience for honest paying members. (I guess my hatred for multis is no secret) Q. What was your most satisfying bust if any? I literally have so many and at the time they are all good, but there are several that are repeat offenders against me and those are the ones I like best. Unfortunately a lot of them slip through the cracks. Anyone that has played here a while can spot an experienced player pretty easily and a lot of multis are very experienced and know exactly what to avoid doing and how to fly under the radar. Second answer is always my latest, like these guys last week: http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=239&t=186296 Q. Word on the street is that you are one of the most common names found on foe lists. Probably so. Why do you think that is and how do you feel about it? I play everyone how I would want to be played. I also will, have and do play against anyone, something that A LOT of higher ranked players cannot say. When you are creating games, you have very little control over who joins them and as a result anything can happen. I play every game fair and honest and I try to win the game. Do I get pissed sometimes about dice, sure...I have good days and bad days like everyone else. As a result I may have let my temper alienate someone who otherwise is a great player and caught me at a bad time. One of my biggest pet peeves that I need to work on is taking my first turn in a game that others have already played and is doomed from the get go and not having any chance to win at all and hearing them talk shit. When I go first and win, OI will usually acknowledge that it was not a gg and that they didn't have a chance, but when the sides are flipped and people say stuff like you played like shit or you should have done this or that, it really irks me. Most games are pretty basic and come down to dice if you have a basic understanding of them, i get that. A lot of players here do not play that way. When I suspect someone of being a multi or using cheap tactics, I will foe them and as a result they in turn will do the same. Problem is, I rarely join other peoples games, so it doesn't bother me as much. There are a lot of players on this site that I respect and know the nice side of me and those are the players I really like to play. I do not lie in a dream world, NOT everyone on this site plays with integrity. If you get pissed that I bitch in a game, oh well, foe me and move along, but my game play will always be balanced. Okay I am rambling and too lazy to re-read this answer and edit it. Take it with a grain of salt. Q. Looking at you stats you already meet the criteria for the new medals in 11 of the categories. How long will it take for you to get the other 5 (terminator, assassin, trench, nukes, random) up to diamond? TBD, the assassin and terminator will be a nightmare. I take pride in the fact that I pretty much have enough unique wins in the cross map to cover all maps except a few beta ones that might have just been released. Unique wins are very very difficult. Especially when you have a high rank and the same players join all of your games to get points. I hate to foe, but I do not feel like playing 5,000 trench, nuke assassin games to get 500 unique wins. There are a lot of great players on this site, but many of them are one trick ponies. The ones that I really respect are the players that are all around great at everything. Each category really does require an alteration to strategy and the players that can play anything well on any map get my respect. Just because you are Conqueror doesn't mean you are a GREAT CC player. Q. Are you happy with the new levels for the new medals or do you think they should be higher? I think 1,000 is good. Unique defeats are VERY VERY VERY hard to attain after a certain level without just blatantly inviting new recruits to games, which I NEVER do. I would like to see a numeral perhaps imposed over the medals to signify if you have doubled them. Someone mentioned that as a suggestion for example the roman numeral II over a trench medal to signify 2,000 unique wins. Q. Will you use the foe option to hunt the medals? Unfortunately I will and except for a few occasions I will only use it if I see the same person joining my games over and over that I already have the kill for. When you are talking 4 figures in unique kills that is a HUGE number. Q. List the best players you have come up against and what makes them good opponents. I have played numerous great opponents on this site and as I mentioned above a great all around well player on all settings and maps that keeps a high rank gets my respect. I would have to say HighlanderAttack is probably my number one draft pick when it comes to meeting all my criteria for a great player. When you can play tourneys and keep your rank and win percentage above 50% even when you play multiplayer games, it is very difficult and often you join these games against 4 or more lower ranked players all gunning for you and all risking 9 points to take 40 from you. Q. List the best players you have teamed up with. I know I am going to accidentally leave someone out, which is going to happen when you have played over 4,000 team games, but off the top of my head over just the last year or so.... killface, HighlanderAttack, HardAttack, alaskanassassin, xman5151, kmhebert, Djfireside, Tiller, Doc Dice, Shaun850 Q. Who is the most annoying person on the site? Any multi or convicted multi as they ruin the site. Q. Who is the biggest cheat you have seen? The multis that have been busted that have played over 1,000 games on the site. Too many to go back and research all of their usernames and as cheats they do not deserve to be recognized. Q. Will you ever have a run at conqueror? Could you make it there if you really went for it? No and I don't think so. To get there you really needed to take advantage of a map and setting and farm in the old days or in the new days get EXTREMELY tight with three other players and play a crap load of quad games under the same settings and gradually milk points from less experienced but more importantly less coordinated opponents. I enjoy playing the game way to much and against any opponent of any rank that I could never keep my rank up. You never see a conqueror post a public one v one game to join. Oh or you could and this is just speculation, do as some previous conquerors and start a new account and win on maps and settings form the get go. Q. Ass or breast man? I am a sucker for tight abs. Q. Would your family be surprised by how you write/talk/interact with people on here? Basically is the boohoo we all know an internet tough guy persona or are you really like that in real life? I have no problem calling people out in real life the way I do in a game. I am aware that CC is a game and is played to have fun, but cheating does not make it fun. If I sat at a table and played against 2 other players that were blatantly cheating, I would call them out to their face and use expletives. Q. I (Ace Rimmer) see you are in DC. Are you going to be affected by the upcoming sequestration? No, if I had a government job here, I would have been fired a long time ago with the amount of time spent on the web. Q. Why are you being interviewed before me (#1_stunna)? I guess because I can guarantee I have seen more on this site than pretty much anyone. Yes, I am aware of how bad that sounds. I take turns so fast, that I probably am on this site less than a lot of people believe it or not. It is always up on one of my screens, but unless I am playing a team game, they rarely take more than a few seconds to play. Q. How do you feel about multi's being able to buy back in? To be honest, I think everyone should have to pay after a trial period. Shit or get off the pot. I also feel that premiums should be able to have a setting when creating a game to restrict ranks, ie. no one less than 500 points from you can join a game. Such a huge topic I don't even want to ramble on about it. Q. Do you know what happened to waterman5000? I play so many people I cannot even recall playing him or what happened to him. Q. How did you pick your name? It was something issued to me randomly by my dial-up modem provider years ago using my dogs name at the time (Boo). Q. Would you have better luck if the dice in your avatar rolled 6s? Probably not. Q. Do you miss me (bigg chief)? Who should be the next big clan? I miss a lot of my old clan mates that I had good relations with and still enjoy seeing them in games that I play today, bigg chief included) I have been so removed from the clan life that I don't even know who is good anymore. So many clans are just really played with a small handful of people 6-8, that it can change vastly as people change clans. Q. How do you feel about being interviewed before #1stunna? This is actually my second time. I was interviewed years ago when I was churning out nothing but tourneys all the time. Q. Why did you leave the grim reapers? Is it because you wanted to join the pack? or was it because kmhebert was too friendly? I never tried to join the pack and I am not even sure who is in it. Q. What's your favorite color? Blue Q. What is your quest? As far as CC goes I guess I am a medal head so all diamonds, but if people knew me outside of CC, they would know that there is a shit ton more to me than this. Q. When you're constipated, do you ever think about buying a kitten? And people wonder why I foe them

Dukasaur Tournament Executive Battle Royale Casual Games by thehippo8 show
At the start of the year, as part of CC’s 7th Anniversary celebration, we had the exciting weekend event of speed Royale games on a variety of maps. That was followed by a number of casual games, which was equally as fun for all involved! Many of those who played in the big event also played in the casual games. And like all good matches, there can only be one winner for each game! After 2 months of intense battling, here are the winners of the respective games: I had the pleasure of speaking to a selection of the winners and thanks to those of you who had the time to respond. As for privatejj or KingOfGods , your secrets remain safe Here are the comments:1. Congrats on winning, how did that feel? RedBaron0 : Always good to win a game against many quality opponents!Iron Maid : In the end, it felt great. It's not a normal win. After I was screwed by some muppet in a previous Colosseum game, this game was looking similar. The difference was that justice was done by another player. This win on Colosseum was very special. At the time of the win it brought me to 30 unique defeated opponents on all 226 CC Maps (except the newest New Zealand map). Also together with the Medal for a win in the Valentine Day event games it will bring me to 22 GA Medals, to stay on top of the GA Medal Scoreboard. I've got all Gold Medals, won 2 Official Big Tournaments (2 years of Premium) some other big Tournaments including Map Quester I & TLO IV. If they didn't announce the new "diamond/platinum" medals I would have been ready to retire as with this win I probably achieved all my CC goals. Well beating KORT will be the last one, but that will be a question of days to achieve .yadayada : Winning a Battle Royale against so many good players was awesome. It is my first win in a BR. A little skill and a lot of luck.thoffs : The win was satisfying. I was proud due to the fact that my ranking was lower than most of the other competitors.FreeFalling123 : Yeah it's funny the day before I realized nobody could stop me I had the win and I played a bunch of my favorite games because I knew after the game I'd be risking a ton of points to play any normal games afterwards. Before I took my move, I checked the numbers one more time and it looked good so went for it.2. I see you now have a great rating - how does that sit with your name? And a couple of you didn’t what happened there? RedBaron0 : (Who didn’t reap the big rewards). It was a terminator game... unfortunately I believe I only killed 2 or 3 players. (The last few) Iron Maid : Probably as I didn't eliminate that many players in this terminator game my rank definitely fell down to Colonel. Just kidding. I normally am a major or colonel, that has nothing to do with this game. I still wonder why my rank keeps that high as I play a lot of 1v1's against random players. Think some escalating victories and beating some cows with my TOFU buddies are keeping me on about 2300 Points average. yadayada : Yes I have been hovering in that lieutenant- major range for a bit. That win has given me my high score and put me just shy of a colonel. thoffs : Not really (... not worried about not getting many points for the win) . It was terminator, so you only get points for who you eliminate. FreeFalling123 : Well don't get me wrong I was a general before pulling off the 700 point win that just brought me higher on the leader board. About a week ago I half jokingly said I wanted to be a Field Marshal, but now I am surely putting my best efforts to making the mark. It wasn't long ago I was proud to be a Lieutenant so of course I wear the star with some pride. 3. Getting to the game itself, how did you stay alive at the beginning? RedBaron0 : Deploy ASAP, and don't piss anyone off. Iron Maid : At the beginning it's just deploying. As long as there are no sets of spoils in a nuke game, you keep the most troops by not attacking and just built. yadayada : Waiting for my first turn I debated whether to attack and go for points or just deploy, stack and wait for an opportunity. I decided to stack. Then when my turn finally came around and I was still in the game, I suddenly chose to go for it. Took a 3 and then a 1 for two kills without losing a single troop. Dice gods were with me. thoffs : Patience. Stockpile troops, take a spoil where there is the least resistance. Position oneself near a weak opponent so as to eliminate them and gain their spoils. Slowly advance and try to hold bonuses equal to the other game leaders. Try to get to an area away from the stronger opponents. FreeFalling123 : Eh I mean I had an early go compared to most.. I was like 15 back on the order, but it kept me ahead of the players around me. I played a 2-0 roll and set someone else up to open up a card because I know how important it is to card and didn't want to be the one to get hit for it. You really gotta look at the people around you and decide which ones are playing for the win and who is watching birds. I was lucky somehow the spot opened up for me and I was getting cards like I had hoped. 4. What was your strategy when things started to move? RedBaron0 : Luckily I got a card I owned and I was able to build up there for a while. Iron Maid : As spoils are turning in just spread a bit over some more regions to be a bit safer. This way I get spoils myself. After that I moved to a region for which I had a spoil. Pretty safe there as double spoils are unlikely as less players were left. Then it's a question to get some bonuses and stack the safe region. yadayada : Then as the only player with two spoils after the first round I choose to split my troops to be less attractive and still have a big enough stack on my best guess where the next opportunity would be. thoffs : Same as above. Do not spread yourself too thin. FreeFalling123 : I mean hey.. I don't bluff I just play my best moves. If I can't get a 1 stack then I'm in trouble, but that was never a problem. Luckily, I had a good enough set up to go for the full board sweep. 5. How did you pull off the ending? RedBaron0 : I expanded a little to pick up a bonus but was still able to build up on a territory I owned to prevent the main stack from being nuked. From there I looked to increase my territory count and with a sizable deploy I took a stab at killing an opponent. It was kinda a long shot, but I just barely made it, winning a 2v1 for the last army. After that I controlled roughly 2/3 of the board with only 1 opponent remaining, it was just a matter of time, nukes or not. Iron Maid : Well Seb (actually SirSebstar, put he's no Sir or star to me anymore) was leading the game, but lost a lot of troops as he was nuked (the risk of more regions with stacks). At the end I was leading and he made a sneaky comment: "iron maid wins, unless someone bashes in armoury X and takes a wad down from his stack, but i do not think that is likely ". Pretty lame to do that and even more lame to follow that up. Some Muppet was stupid enough to reduce my stack and leaving Seb with the most troops. Fortunately for me the last player compensated it a bit, so that I could pull the Victory away.yadayada : At the end of the 2nd round I had 3 spoils and a set. Again my luck shined on me, as you -theHippo8 ended up next to my stack with 5 spoils ripe for the picking. Cashing in, I took you and the rest is as they say history as each succeeding kill brought in more escalating spoils.thoffs : It was a while ago so I am a little fuzzy on that one. It was probably down to 3 or 4 players at that point. I was able to eliminate them one by one, gain spoils & repeat the strategy. FreeFalling123 : Well it's definitely a timing thing, but really I just moved into the carding places and ate people up. I wasn't really thinking much about it at the time I was getting about 15 guys up on all my rolls so it wasn't tough. 6. Did you make much use of diplomacy? If so, what worked there for you? RedBaron0 : No, not really. Iron Maid : It's more a bit of luck if others like you or not. This time I pulled the longest straw. yadayada : Fortunately I did not need to. If so, what worked there for you? It meant that I did not need to give away my position in a foggy game. thoffs : Not much diplomacy involved in this game. FreeFalling123 : No, I don't expect to win these types of games. I just let the game play out the way it should. 7. Any highlights or shaky moments in the game? RedBaron0 : It was a little scary early with those nukes out there and just 1 territory. Iron Maid : No real highlights. It definitely was shaky after the muppeting began after Seb's comment. yadayada : High light was that decision to go for it first round and not losing anything. That set up all the rest. thoffs : Not that I recall. I do remember making a post that read something like this after taking out a high ranking player. "Good game [players name]. This is my first battle royal, any advice would be appreciated. " The only response came from another competitor that read, "Yeah, let me win! ". Soon thereafter either I or someone else eliminated that player. So that was entertaining. FreeFalling123 : Yes! I dropped next to a guy named Caecilius and he was to play after me. Nothing against the guy, but I think it was his first game. I thought for sure he was going to start going for the bonus or something absurd so I tapped his stack and THANK GOD iamkooler knocked him out the next turn! Also there was another lowly rated player next to me... it's a miracle I didn't get noobed. 8. Would you play in another of these events? RedBaron0 : Of course... duh. Iron Maid : Sure, someone has to stay on Top of GA Medals. yadayada : Absolutely win or lose it is a blast. A taste of winning such a big game is a bit intoxicating and will keep me coming back for more. thoffs : Abosolutely. I may become a member when I retire from my current job. Right now I need to limit my games, even though each turn does not take that long, I have a tendency to study others strategies in the games I play. I also enjoy writing in the logs. I make entertaining comments, role play as if I were a commander of an army, joke around with other players, try to use diplomacy, etc. All those comments take extra time, so I need to limit the amount of games I am in. I fear I would not have enough self-discipline to do so if I was a member. But eventually I will join. I used to play the original Risk board game with my high school buddies and then later with my work colleagues. FreeFalling123 : Sure I don't mind donating a couple points to keep the tradition alive. Sign me up Hey thanks for picking me for this article! And for the readers check out my miraculous win in this Game 12192322 Well that's all from the interviews. Thanks again for all your contributions and I am clearly not alone when I say ... when’s the next event?!!

Tournament Tips by DaveH show: League Tournaments - part 3
In this article I will continue with the steps I am using to continue the 2012 NFL season tournament I picked up from flexmaster33. In the last article I explained the creation of lookup tables so that the points awarded to the winning and losing teams could be translated from the winning round. This created the following table (though the order of items is a little different than I explained in the last article - due to improvement tinkering!) From this table I created a list of teams and total points using the following routine:Code: Select all Sub AddScores() ' ' Macro recorded 14/12/2012 by DaveH ' Range("H3:H72").Select Selection.Copy Range("C74").Select Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks _ :=False, Transpose:=False Range("G3:G72").Select Selection.Copy Range("D74").Select Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks _ :=False, Transpose:=False Range("I3:I72").Select Selection.Copy Range("C144").Select Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks _ :=False, Transpose:=False Range("J3:J72").Select Selection.Copy Range("D144").Select Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks _ :=False, Transpose:=False Range("C74:D213").Select Application.CutCopyMode = False Selection.Sort Key1:=Range("C74"), Order1:=xlAscending, Header:=xlGuess, _ OrderCustom:=1, MatchCase:=False, Orientation:=xlTopToBottom, _ DataOption1:=xlSortNormal j = 1 While j = 1 j = 0 For i = 74 To 213 a = Cells(i, 3).Value If a = "" Then i = 213 Else b = Cells(i + 1, 3).Value If b = a Then Cells(i, 4).Value = Cells(i, 4).Value + Cells(i + 1, 4).Value Cells(i + 1, 3).Value = "" Cells(i + 1, 4).Value = "" j = 1 End If End If Next i Range("C74:D213").Select Application.CutCopyMode = False Selection.Sort Key1:=Range("C74"), Order1:=xlAscending, Header:=xlGuess, _ OrderCustom:=1, MatchCase:=False, Orientation:=xlTopToBottom, _ DataOption1:=xlSortNormal Wend End Sub
This routine simply forms a list of winning teams with points and adds the losing teams and points before adding any duplicate team names and sorting into alphabetical order. I could then extract the various points for the following summary; Note that I have highlighted the winning team - for my own information only. In the next article I will explain the routine that updates the master scorechart - as shown below - from this data: (These "tips" started off as ones that I used to make it a bit easier in managing my own tournaments. Now, I am looking at other types of tournaments and scoring systems by all you innovative TO's out there. So, if you have a unique scoring system that you would like me to have a go at automating, please let me know and I'll be pleased to try and assist. Any queries on the above I'll be glad to respond to of course. Please note that I use Excel 2003, so there may be variation in the menu instructions if you have other versions of Excel)

And now for our regular look at a selection of the tournaments in sign-ups. The tournament division is certainly very busy at this time - at the time of writing, there are 53 tournaments taking sign-ups in the tournament forum, providing a wide selection of tournaments to cater to every individual. Here are a few which might catch your eye!"Gratuitous Transfer of Wealth" by Dukasaur - Freemium Friendly! This tournament features a 1-year Premium Prize for the winner. And if that isn't enough of an incentive for you to join in the fun, then the very apt theme of this 32-player 1v1 tournament should seal the deal. Beginning from the Dawn of Ages , Dukasaur 's tournament gives you a closer look at the plundering Romans, the merchants of in the days of barter trade, and charitable acts towards Africa as you stake your claim on the grand prize.Territorial Battle by iamkoolerthanu - Freemium Friendly! If you'd like a change from the conventional 1v1 elimination approach, then you should definitely check this one out. This tournament pits fans of CC's smallest maps (less than 30 territories) against fans of CC's largest maps (more than 100 territories) as two opposing factions in a battle for supremacy. The faction that proves that they handle both types of maps better than the other will then battle it out among themselves to crown the eventual winner. A tournament that gives you a taste of both the quick draw gameplay of small maps where every minor mistake can cost you, and the adrenaline rush of large maps as you rampage through territories, this is sure to be an interesting battle.Chop's Battle of the Betas 1vs1 round robin by mr_chopper - Premium Only. If you have yet to try out the Beta maps that the Cartography department has been releasing, why not get some experience under your belt in this tournament? This tournament features the ten maps currently still undergoing Beta testing, and is a great platform for you to get acquainted with the newer maps that CC offers, while having the chance to get a tournament win in your resume as well! This tournament also has a General Achievement Medal up for grabs. These are my picks, but if you don't like any of these go to the Create/Join a Tournament or Tournaments Tab and take a look at the many others waiting to be filled. If you're craving tourney action now, check out the Requests for Immediate Players section of the tournament forum. You can be playing very quickly after signing up as a reserve.

CC3 Update by Swifte show
We've been blessed with two excellent semi-final match-ups to follow for this event, and it seems, we can finally declare some winners! Semi-Final 1 vs KORT 19 - 30 TOFU When we last checked in, TOFU held an 24-11 lead over KORT with the war halfway completed, and KORT having a significant advantage in a number of unfinished games. With 14 more games now in the books, KORT gained some ground, but in the end it will not be enough to get the the win. Now trailing 19-30, KORT pulled slightly closer with an 8-6 record in the past two weeks, but with the set being first to 31, it seems TOFU will lock up this very close battle and advance to the finals! A KORT / TOFU battle is never without it's drama, and this past week KORT got bit by the daylight savings change as JaneAustin had her turn end only a minute after she started. TOFU certainly deserve a lot of credit for winning a great battle between these two titans, who each showed why they're the top clans on the site. Top performers for TOFU continue to be Master Fenrir (10-3), Denise (8-3), and Iron Maid (7-0). A dominant performer has yet to really emerge for KORT, but loes and Josko have won 6 game a piece and are ahead of the rest for the time being. Congratulations to TOFU for making the finals! I expect KORT still has some games to finish up that will make the final result closer than it currently stands... follow along here .Semi-Final 2 vs. AOC 25 - 31 AFOS This time two weeks ago, AFOS led 25-20 over AOC. AFOS have succeeded in maintaining their pace and have since taken the win, earning the 31 - 25 result over AOC, punching their ticket for a finals matchup against TOFU! AFOS won the battle by protecting their home maps, particularly the trips and quads, of which they only lost 2! It was a real battle to the finish, but that kind of dominance at home is difficult to overcome. One final look at the top performs shows Jipped with the most wins at 8, Msex, neva, and red 42 all with 6-1 records, vintender with a 5-2 record, and watsy at a perfect 4-0. Congratulate the winners here . Be on the lookout for the finals between TOFU and AFOS before too long!

Say hello to this issues competition, but at the same time, say good bye to the competition in the foundry dispatch section. Over the next few issues, the competition will be moving into the foundry proper . So if you want to continue playing and win medals, you will have to head over there. But more on that next issue. Winners roll call. Last issue, I asked you all to spot the maps from these 12 images. Each of which is only 30 by 30 pixels big. And to make matters worse, a map got updated and removed the image I used, and another got a stamp, moving it from one forum to another. Never said it was easy. Row 1 : Classic Cities: Moscow, Tank Battle, Portland, PhilippinesRow 2 : New Zealand, Miami, Classic Cities: Madrid, ZigguratRow 3 : WWI: Gallipoli, Doodle Earth, 4 Star Meats, Alaska So who spotted them all? simmons4, generalhead, Iron Maid, jigger1986, anamainiacks, smegal69, Ffraid, Gilligan, Dako, DoomYoshi, cooldeals, betiko, Swifte. A lot of you only spotted 11. Sorry guys for that, but no, I will not be taking any bills from opticians. Time for this issues contest. And it is a total mind bender. I will accept answers till 25th March. At that point, I will close the competition and post the correct map in the thread with the winners names. As normal, send your answer to me koontz1973 via PM. Name this map. This map is on Conquer Club. Up to you to find out which one. I have done things to make this harder for you, but all regions and connections are correct. Good luck to you all and happy hunting. If we get an abundance of winners (+20), I will determine the winners (5) via random.org.
