Asia Map Revamp please

I think that's all that's really a problem, but (being picky) compared to other maps it could still be fixed in a few other spots.

Still looking at the larger map, the North Korea-Honshu names are to a lesser degree like the problem in Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan.

For the small map, I would add Malaysia, maybe Tanzhik and Afghanistan to this list:

There's not as much of a problem with Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan in the small map.

agreed the key needs to be color-coded or something. Most people have a basic knowledge of Asia geographics, but still.

Ya, if I just saw the map, I would call it Far East (who wouldn't). Maybe the name on the site should be "Asia- Far East" or something if people want to keep the Asia part of it.

As much as I agree with what has been written in this thread so far, sometimes, just sometimes the way things started should be left to become retro.

Asia was always the second best map after classic when there were only 3 maps on the site. Classic had to be re vamped due to Hesbrola - As much as I would probably play Asia more if it was nicer to look at, I think that Lack deserves to have this one left as an original

Here is my stab at a revamp.

Gameplay has remained unchanged, but some borders have been redrawn, and some labels and numbers have been moved.

I believe that I have fixed all of the problem areas, that were mentioned. I have not yet added the sea routes.

Now that is a beautiful map. It verges on overwhelming, but then, so does Asia itself.

(EDIT: Sorry to nitpick, but it is spelled Sri Lanka.)

Thank you ender, and thanks for the correction as well. Lord knows that I am the worlds worst speller. Please let me know if you catch any more typos.

- territory labels: this may just be the font, but the letters appear pixelated. I'd suggest some other font if you cannot fix the pixelation of this font.
- land/sea borders - mostly on the india bonus area, if you look closely, you can see the pixelation. Zoom in if you can't see it otherwise. It's most notable on sri lanka.
- the minimap edges

An easy way to fix pixelation is to just run the blur tool over the spot for a second.

How on earth can you say my labels are pixelated ? There is a very faint outside glow with noise, that I think you are seeing. Talking about labels, what is up with your labels. They are larger than mine, but still look like crud.

But seriously, My aspiration was to make the labels blend in as much as possible, and NOT stand out like most maps. I colored the text to a darker shade of the bonus region that it is located in, and I threw on an outside "colored" glow with noise, to that end. I think that I pulled it off just as I hoped for.

The problem with your labels is the bevel that you decided to use. For the most part when you are working with such small objects like labels, it is better to NOT use bevels. You can use drop shadow and outer glow along with a stroke if you need to. Those labels are horrible, and that is not even mentioning the problem you will have when you need to scale it down for the small version.
