as kaplowitz said i never wanted to be a mod.

to be a mod you need balance. i don't have that. i'm all or nothing.

plus i'm better suited by the rebel emblem.

Congrats cairns and coleman...Very shocked about coleman being chosen as a mod since he has never published a map. What was the idea behind it if you dont mind me asking?

8 Thoughts was all my work and WidowMakers did the art and little else.
Seige! had quite a bit of input from me and I did all the xml.
I'll admit Great Lakes was all WidowMakers work and I did the xml and little else, but it still has my signature.
D-Day may be quenched someday.

So I've published a few... None by myself though, that much is true. :-k

Anyway, he had reasons for choosing me besides that. A large part of it is what gimil said, although yeti_c is much better, the other I know of would be how insanely active and interested in the site I tend to be.

Thanks for asking.

I just dont think that a person who can't produce a map should be cartographer...For example its like a mechanic employing somebody who cant fix a car to save his life!!

How can you go and comment on a map when you cant honestly do a better job than the person making thee map!!

dont take this personally because it isnt intended to come acrosss that way...

umm he has produced maps. He just hasn't done graphics on them all. He HAS gone through the process a few times which is very important because he knows how it is on the cartographer's side.

And just because I can't make graphics as good as Widowmakers doesn't mean I shouldn't be taken seriously when I do comment (which is often because he's just awful (kidding duh))

If you havent done the graphics on the map that for means you havent done the map at all....You might have helped abit on the gameplay side but the major issue is the graphics becuase anyone can russle up gameplay.

Edbeard , nobody has askedanyone to be as good as Wm at anything but there are some many mapmakers out there who have actually produced a map that could ahve been given this job. I just find it a aratehr strange discussion but it wasnt my call to make, so...........

Well you can think that way I guess. I did the graphics and layout initially for 8 Thoughts. WidowMakers came in and revamped that and then stuck with me the rest of the way. I view that as me authoring the map. Actually I view having your name in the signature as authoring it, but that lax of a view apparently doesn't fly with you. I think if you ever collaborated on a map with someone you might feel differently on what counts as publishing.

Maybe he picked me because all of my maps have been collaborated so he then inferred that I would work well with another person so he could safely have 2 CAs instead of one without worrying about cairnswk and I fighting?

Well said!
I completely agree!
You both will do a great job. Both have strengths and together they will help the map process flow smoothly.

What Coleman may lack in map development, he makes up in advice and insight.

And Hulmey...have you forgotten that your dear old Foundry Foreman has never produced a map? ;)

I for one think that coleman is perfectly qualified.

Also, 8 thoughts is my favorite map ever.
