Putting someone at L-2 doesnt mean that they MUST claim, thats just the normal for claiming. Also, WHOS MARK??? this we need to know, could be crucial to the game, seeing as how he looks as if he was the one infected last night.

If you dont know your name, i suggest you go look at your role PM, mine is Elizabeth Holland.

I hadnt heard of him either,so I wiki'ed halo james wiedfield and all versions of james in halo,he didnt come up in any version or near the spelling you gave. And that spells trouble for you most likely.

Why would it spell trouble for them?

first few times? i think at the worst case scenario only the first lynch should be random. if you do 3-4 lynches at random in a 9player game the town is pretty much dead (unless you get really lucky and hit mafia). but if you kill 3-4 townies out of the 6 you have at the start then it's over.

I wasn't talking lynches I was talking claims. Going to have to possibly pressure two or three random people until we find something to go off of.

I can't find anything about a James Wiedfield in Halo... I even tried a the Google suggestion, nothing. But then I can't find Crazy's character either.

my character isn't on that list either and so i suppose they're made up names. more people checking with that list could confirm this.

Vote JGordon

Stupid ass time running out.

My name is not on the list either. He would know if he checked his name. If you are mafia you would not have a name. I beleive Vodean and his claim.

This is a test game. Jak is seeing how and if roles will work. I beleive from the title and no one dieing we may have a delayed death or perhaps a cult.

Jgordons statement was extremely scummy with its logic so thats my vote.

my bad. indeed one has the option to not claim at all.

if Mike was infekcted does this mean that we have a Cult Leader? in this case would Mike come forward and admit it? i doubt it cause that would make him a target for town, right?

unless there's something else about this infection. maybe mafia doesn't kill people, it infects them and they die the next day/night? in this case whoever is Mike could probably be healed by a doctor?

also i may be reading too much into this or perhaps getting carried away with this game being a test and i'm assuming a lot of outlandish things.
but bare with me for a second:

1. we assumed the covenant is like the mafia but in the D2 scene the covenant grunt was scared of something. could this mean a 3rd party evil faction? perhaps one that's not only targeting town but also targeting the mafia?

2. what if there isn't even a mafia? what if each night infection spreads and we have to find a solution to stopping it? let's say we have an alien life form that sucks life out of people. one of us started as an infected, at N1 he chooses a target for the alien to move. once the alien moves the initial host dies and the new host has to pick the next target and so on. basically in this scenario we'd have to anticipate who's the current infected and kill him thus killing the alien. (btw if this isn't what's going on here it might be a good idea for a new game :P )

jak111, could you please tell us if this is like a regular mafia game with town and mafia?

care to elaborate?

in my first game (you were in it too) i was mafia and i had a name. all mafia had names. in fact the power roles all had names. the only people with no names where the VTs who received generic things like Engineer/Security Guard/Analyst.

judging by this logic, vodean's claim would actually seem fake because he supplied a name for his role and he said he's a VT.

but i think that this whole personalised/generic name thing is not a rule. i think each mafia mod does as he wishes in this regard.
am i right? or am i onto something here?

Again you are correct DIM each MOD does what they want, whether they name their roles or not is an option.

LOL @ IB my role seems to be different from yours and vodeans, which now makes you suspect as well.

Human name would be Bob Smith "for example". Mafia/Alien would not be Bob Smith "for example" but somthing alien.

sorry for multi posts.

Also..I KNOW we have humans. We certianly have aliens as a grunt was spotted. The grunt was scared of somthing.

We have non human somthings on this ship! Non humans will not have human names.

Does that explain my logic for you Gordon?

Yes that explains your logic on the non humans having non human names possibly.

The name vodean gave was human but not part of any story line I could find, that was my logic behind my post. I read the whole thing 2 months ago,and then went back when vodean claimed and looked for the name it didnt show up,flavor wise I think the MOD is sticking with characters from HALO.

I didnt look for just human names,I cross referenced All of HALO looking for it.

Now your talking in circles.

What whole thing did you read two monthes ago? Halo wiki?

If you went looking for just human names why were you were looking for alien as well? there could only be one reason and that is you are an alien npc. that does not mean you are mafia or a baddie.

I don't understand the clues jak is trying to incorporate into the scenes very well. I need some more time with them. I might be able to pick up a pattern once I see another scene, but that even might be difficult since I never played halo.

But yes, I don't think we are going to get anywhere with this until we get one lynch. If we are close with gordon, I can go with that until I get back.

Captain’s log
Frigate Halliday September 22nd 2552

We could not find the grunt today. It is odd, we’re not picking him up on camera nor with all the personal looking for him. It’s like he just vanished into thin air.

I’ve decided to send the men to their bunkers for some well needed sleep. If we haven’t found anything today perhaps we’ll find something in the mourning. I’m signing off for the night. Even though this is making me uneasy about how we just couldn’t find anything when we know that there are survivors on board.

sorry to speak at night but this is the second time you use mourning instead of morning.
is this some sort of hidden clue or just a spelling mistake?
