This is why I think we should have a vote on whether we do or do not accept them into our group going on (the survivor wc fulfillment group (SWFG)). But I think it is viable.

Perhaps the cult does have an ulterior motive, hence, one of their own cooperates with you so you can check them out. All we need to do is survive New Guy. There isn't many town to protect, so if they get converted we can just focus on surviving and winning as well.

Plus the added factor of hunting down 5 cult is really not to my liking. 3 Elder Gods is enough of an enemy already. I would not like to expand our enemy list when we do not need to expand it.

~ I (Outer God) wins
~ Aliens win
~ Survivors win
~ Town wins
~ Cult wins
~ Elder Gods lose.

Is a 5 faction win pentagon too much to try for at least? We can deal with the cult if they prove to be a nuisance but we can also just go straight to the source and create a multi-way win. If the Cult have no exterior motives, is that good enough New Guy? The cult leaves the aliens alone so that perhaps we can also direct the flow of votes in the following days and cut off all Elder God's powers. I can hide behind whomever while the book is not in the Elder God's hands, and the unaligned humans can use their powers to find out the unknown player's roles/factions.

Fasposted by Doom 3 times and Spiesr. lol, fail XD

What do you two think on my proposal on the multi-win scenario?

Several problems here. First, I don't believe that such any cult faction has successfully recruited every night. There are things that point to recruitments in the scenes, but not in all of them. (The simplest reason I can think for this would be the recruiter only working on humans.) Second, Town at least doesn't get to pick their enemies. Any given group/individual is either considered a threat to the town or not.

This is incorrect. In this scenario town would NOT win. Individual town members who get recruited could win (assuming that they can be recruited) but Town as a faction would lose. As such any town members who die before endgame would lose as well. Right now that list is just Soundman, but it assuming the Elder Gods were to have a kill ability it could include any current town member by the time things end.
I am not willing to submit to any plan that would involve playing against my own win condition.

While yes Soundman would lose, the rest of the town will be recruited and the "town" would win. It is merely a suggestion that I think is good and would involve many fulfilling their wc or new wc. The only people I can see having a problem with this plan are Elder Gods or people who lied about being able to win by just surviving. Because if that were true they'd win as well and would have nothing to fear. Even if they were lying or unaligned humans changed their alignment and WC then then the cult could just convert them.

Although it may be technically possible for all who are alive left to win if cult can recruit Elder Gods. I only need Elder Gods dead to win, but if they changed alignment I wonder if I'd still fulfill my WC.

Re: [Official]H.P. Lovecraft Mafia; Night Three, Need Reserv

Postby spiesr on Mon Nov 26, 2012 11:28 pm

Okay, right now I have two potential theories on the recruiting pipes. First let's look at what we know. The pipes appear in the scenes for Nights 2, 3, & 4 and not Night 1. They have a flavor in those scenes which suggests that they are related to recruiting. Strikewolf had a role that looked like a cult leader, but his death has not stopped the appearance of these pipes.
So, theory 1. They represent some kind of cultesc faction that can only recruit humans.
/ wrote:The abyssal pipes from last night sound again in a person's house, rumbling loudly from the cacophony, as well as the movements of the massive creature within. this time the creature sinks down into the summoning circles, slinking back into the shifting outer chaos of its home realm.
Now, to me this bit from the Night 3 scene sounds like a failed recruitment of a non-human. The other two scenes sound more successful in comparison.

Theory 2 says that what looks like a recruitment is actually "Humans" aligning to someone. Night 2 is the night that Rishead used his alignment change right? This could explain why there was no presence of the pipes in the Night 1 scene. And help everything fit a little easier.

Anyhow just throwing these ideas out here.

Well seeing as the WC for all of us is coming closer. There's a few parts of hidden knowledge most of which I've been softclaiming or forcing down people's throats.

The first is about the book. If you haven't noticed the dead have been rising lately from the scenes without seeing who died and was ressurected. This is due to the book being used among you. I believe I know who has it due to a scene I quoted earlier. From the info I know, The Elder Gods wish to ressurect the army of the dead. Using them to kill off everyone else and claiming victory for themselves.

Now this next part is very interesting to me. I said I am immune to being converted, but I did not mention how the retailiation is upon the one who tries to. The consequence is death, that is why I assumed Strike was the cult.

Finally, I know for a FACT that I am the only Outer God in the game. I wanted to see if someone would try to falsly claim an Outer God role as well, which they haven't which is accurate.

The people have my support as long as I can fulfill my simple WC. That is my word for the exchange. Anything else?

Although, I didn't hide this but I wasn't fully descriptive about it neither. Where it says I can't be killed by human means, Gods and Aliens CAN kill me. Which is the part I believe that confirms the Elder Gods as a killer role unless there's some other sort of god out there was well which I doubt. Aliens I assume were the Elder Things.

That is my full knowledge that I've kept Spiesr. No point in me hiding it since our WC's are near.

Fastposted once.

Outer Gods

The Outer Gods are ruled by Azathoth, the "Blind Idiot God", who holds court at the center of the universe. A group of Outer Gods dance rhythmically around Azathoth, in cadence to the piping of a demonic flute. Among the Outer Gods present at Azathoth's court are Lesser Outer Gods, the entities called "Ultimate Gods" in The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath, and possibly Shub-Niggurath, the "Black Goat of the Woods". Yog-Sothoth, the "All-in-One", co-rules with Azathoth and exists at all places and in all times in the cosmos, yet is somehow locked outside the mundane universe. Nyarlathotep, the "Crawling Chaos", is the avatar and soul of the Outer Gods, and serves as an intermediary between the deities of the pantheon and their cults. The only Outer God to have a true personality, Nyarlathotep possesses a malign intellect and reveals a mocking contempt for his masters.[24]

1) sound familiar in any night scenes?

2) He takes the guise of the swarthy figure in the night scene that had tentacles for an arm and use alien devices to recruit

Seeing how you are so forthcoming with the info what is your name? You have pretty much laid your plans at our feet for us to agree or disagree...what could it possibly hurt to divulge that last bit of info?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nyarlathotep

"In his first appearance in "Nyarlathotep", he is described as a "tall, swarthy man" who resembles an ancient Egyptian pharaoh.[1] In this story he wanders the earth, seemingly gathering legions of followers, the narrator of the story among them, through his demonstrations of strange and seemingly magical instruments. These followers lose awareness of the world around them, and through the narrator's increasingly unreliable accounts the reader gets an impression of the world's collapse."

Gee sound familiar? Jak is admitting to being an Outer God and there is a direct correlation to the politics/mythos of the Outer Gods and what has happened with out night scenes, which is what I was trying to peice together earlier.

ok. i still think that while rishaed isnt a threat, he cant be ignored.
also, rishaed could have been the prince of arya yesterday because jonty did not seem to be. we need to consider what he said to some extent at least.
there's jak, who seems not to be scum nor town, so he is like most of us. not worth pursuing.
IB - not human (or at least not yoshi-human, which means he is a wild card)
rodion - not yoshi-human. if he is human, then there is no counter-evidence, but no evidence showing that he really is human
spiesr - actively scummarining half the time. he shows up occasionally and makes bursts of posts, then disappears.
saf - it seems like he isnt even playing. he almost never posts
nendreel - when is the last time he posted? is he playing? scummarining?

I believe he's saying that since his role PM states that there is a cult, then the only way elon would know about cult for sure is if he has a cult role or the same role as Doom does. Of course, Doom could very well be talking out of his ass.

OR, hes trying extremely hard to annoy people so they'll lynch him, i mean seriously, we've got the option that he's a Jester, scum, or VT. If hes scum his cover is working beautifully right about now because nobody is going to lynch him when thinking hes a Jester because it costs too much. However if hes the other two he's painting a big bright red X on his back for scum to kill in the Night.
Hope that made sense.

he might as well try to get recruited by one of the different cults or other third parties tonight. i think there will be different third party factions.

I didn't put you on the YoshiHuman list originally Betiko. I never told you why, but this is the post that made me suspect that you are not one of us. (remember, I told you I would explain this later).

The yoshi humans have the ability to follow anyone they choose. Neither you nor saf knew about this ability. You are both falsely hopping onto my list.

sorry just read untill there will read the rest later. and? are you suggesting I am town human joat like saf pretending to be unaligned human joat? well ask the aliens. would sound much better for me saying that i'm town.
To put things back into context, this was day 1 and I didn't know you had the same role that I did, how could I know? we knew there was going to be a cult though from our role pm, since you started day 1 strangely I thought you were trying to get recruited. I think I've proved enough times I know exactly how the worship X ability works, what I don't know is about the undead state you are in.

Skim much lately Iron? Pretty bad if you're missing name claims and then asking for them down the road when you're tunneling a single person.

I am Kaajh'Kaalbh, an Outer God, as far as I know I am the only one of my kind because I am not masoned unlike so many others seem to be.

^ This I have recently explained.

Keep up. But as you seem so sure about others having the same role as you Iron. What IS your role? Rodion says there isn't much room for any more factions yet you claim you are of a different faction than what we have so far.

With the above, I can prove one of a few things.

~ Rodion and Iron are aligned for each ignoring the other's post contradicting what they say.

Well, really only one way I can think of what is going on between the two of you.

Rodion claims there is no more room for new claims, thus, Iron must be one of the claims already. Iron claims he is something else and that there are OTHERS like him, this, Rodion's "role math" is false. However, neither of them even talk to each other to dispute this contradiction. Thus, I conclude that whatever one is the other may be as well (Which I believe Iron to be an Elder God, so Rodion may be one as well).

I agree with jak, since there is a possibility you are an elder god iron (not even knowing if that is good or bad...) would be good to know a bit more about you since you are within the very few who didn't say anything about your role. Also, each time I told you I got an unaligned result on you, you avoided confirming or denying anything.
What are you iron, a human, a god.. something else?
I have to admit a few things from the night scenes and from the horrible visions new guy got it is difficult to fully trust jak.
side question: Aliens, can you turn insane? Is it possible that new guy turned insane with those ugly visions without you guys knowing? Might explain that he couldn't pick a new target and found an excuse.

Would you kindly point out where I claim I am a "different faction" or "something else"? It seems to me several players may have a vested interest in making me into a boogie man, which I find ironic.

If you are going to state something as fact please post it in a quote. You make alot of accusations but have not substantiated them.

If you truly believe I am an Elder God than make your case and back it up.

I guess that you know that and you want to gain time since the day is almost over, but I uess everyone noticed by now I've asked you like 4 times to confirm that you are unaligned, not 3rd party nor town.

@doom: I just have trouble believing that being undead changes nothing at all for you. Why even be undead? if it means that you can't be saved by neendrel a second time I see a reason, otherwise it has to be something about your WC or your perks that changes, but I guess you won't tell us.

where are edoc and hippo? haven't seen them in ages.

Sooooo many walls to read!

DoomYoshi wrote:Rodion. Some questions for you:
Why would the Yith use powers at all if all they have to do is survive. Sure, they want to figure out useful info, but doesn't that seem a bit OP? Are you totally ruling out false results?

Second: why are you willing to fos anyone who rushes conversation day 4, but now on day 5 you just want narrow focus and a wagon?

Third: who do you think Strike recruited?

Finally, if Jak is an Outer God recruiter and we know that the Byahkees and Elder God(s) are in the game, who's to say that they aren't recruiters?

I had a sneaking suspicion earlier, and it seems more confirmed now. Rodion and safariguy have been recruited to the same faction.

Also, I notice how little witt changes the vote after Rodion calls him on it. Good catch there Rodion, but it still is going to take a lot of convincing to prove to me that this isn't cult v cult.

1 - I don't know. Being a survivor does not mean you have to be vanilla. You can have powers and use them, nothing wrong with that. Now, do I think the Yith have been 100% upfront with us? No, I do not. Their alleged WC is just too easy: having 1 out of 3 members survive. I don't know what they are hiding, but I know that:
a) all 3 members are exposed
b) they can't both possess minds AND recruit (that would be OP), so they are not the recruiter we are looking for

That allows me to conclude we should focus on trusting them for now, lynch Jak and go from there. They're still 3 out of 19, it's not like trusting them for 1 or 2 days (even 3) would allow them to run away with the game.

2 - D4 had other things to be discussed (Hippo/Vodean/Nendreel, for instance) and the deadline allowed for more conversation if I recall things correctly. All those things that had to be discussed are clear for me now: Hippo is scum, Nendreel ressurects people and Vodean is a fool (maybe also scum-aligned). D5 deadline is today and Jak only has 3-4 votes out of 9 that are needed. Do you see why we need narrow focus and a wagon now?

3 - I have no idea. I don't even know if he was a recruiter.

4 - Flavour scenes did not mention several recruitments as far as I recall, only the abyssal pipes ones.

Finally, I can't convince you I was not recruited to a cult. Every discussion in that sense would lead to WIFOM and the only way to be sure about that is through night actions (Yog the hell out of me, if you want to). I will not lose the chance to say, however, that your deductions on me have all been ridiculously poor throughout the game. ;)

Doubtful.

And now you managed to land an accurate one. Well done, Yoshi.

@Jak - you say you're the only Outer God in the game. Vodean said there were multiple. Did he lie?

/ says: "abyssal pipes and recruitments"
IB says Wiki says: "abyssal pipes and Outer Gods"
Jak says: "I'm the only Outer God"

Those 3 lines are enough to conclude Jak is the recruiter.

@Vodean - care to comment on why you called Nendreel a liar? Also, you said Ghostly's WC was to get rid of Elder Gods and Outer Gods (in the plural). Jak said he is the only Outer God. Is he a liar? Why don't you vote him?

@someone who asked - town's WC is the standard "threats to the town" (or something close to that - I did not reopen my PM) stuff. We don't know which factions are considered threats.

@whoever commented: Safari is not the only town human JOAT. I've already said I am one too.

@Yith: does Betiko's list of powers include a 1-shot alignment change?

@Jak: I'm not commenting IB's posts because I think he is on the right track (catching you). If you want to get him to claim, by all means do it, but you're the lynch du jour.
